"I don't want to die in a car accident. When I die, it will be a glorious day. It'll probably be a waterfall." ~River Phoenix I can't believe it. It's been 27 years since the world lost such a wonderful soul. I shouldn't care but the thing is that I do. I can't let it go unsaid that River has done so much in a such a short time and he is missed greatly. I wish you could've grown and had more opportunities, I wish you could've had a second chance. The world misses you, but I'm sure he's jamming out in the afterlife with Jimi Hendrix or Eddie Van Halen or Neil Peart, maybe all three. He saw injustice in the world and he took a stand for that. And for those who say he shouldn't be considered a role-model, well then you haven't paid attention to what River lived for. He was honest and real, and while he was rather reluctant to his fame, he was able to use that to stand up for what he believed in and expose issues that have been swept under the carpet for a long time. I was always inspired by him because he was real. He was one of the few stars in this period that convinced me I was watching real life, not just a movie. He wasn't afraid to be vulnerable on-screen and that's what drew a lot of attention to him. Sadly, there has never been a day in my life that he has also been alive alongside me and I wish him the best in his next life, whatever that may be. I love you, River Jude, stay gold <3 <3 <3
