After the controversy over Inktober, i did not do it, but instead I planned a similar thing in November! Now, as you may already know, i am obsessed with history, and I decided to make this Inktober rip-off history themed! Feel free to join in the middle if needed, don't feel pressured to do every prompt, but most of all, have fun and try new styles to improve!
Retro-vember prompts: 1.marie curie (in my drawing, her husband, Pierre, is next to her) 2.victorian street (you can see little scenes between the people on the streets, but scratch ruined the quality a bit) 3.martin luther King(showing his dream, the things we have and have yet to achieve) 4.war and peace (a scene from the book by Tolstoy, Petya Rostov imagining himself as a orchestra conductor while he drifts away to a half-sleep before his last battle, the next day. 5. Marie Antoinette(portrait of her) 6. konstantinos palaiologhos VI(portrait of him) 7. Catarina II(peter iii, her husband who was known to be very weird, showing her his collection of toy soldiers that he had an obsession with) 8. Helen Keller(she was blind and deaf at age three, and her first word was water 9. Theodora & Justinian(portrait) 10. Napoleon(him being chased by rabbits, a truly monumental and historical event(yes it happened). The speech bubbles translate from french: "Ah! my God! Joséphine, help!//Are the Russians attacking you?//No, worse:Bunnies!) 11. Baroque(a drawing of Willem II and his wife Mary Stuart. It is not their reign i am particularly interested in, but their painting portrays the sillhouette of the fashion time period that i like) (ach Scratch pixelized and distorted Mary's face) 12. Bloody Mary I (I do not like her very much, killing hundreds of people at the stake is never right, but I decided to represent the years of rage and destruction that must've led up to her violent reign, which was much less violent than other monarchs)(the scenes in the picture are: 1. Her mother, Catalina de Aragon being banished from the palace, whom she never sees again, 2. The demeaning face of Anne Boleyn and the disapproving face of her father and her in the middle of both 3. Her troublesome marriage with Phillip of Spain, whom she loved but he detested her, 4. This could either represent the illness she had earlier in her life or her death)(in the background you can see a fire burning) 13. The Last Romanovs(family portrait) 14. Titanic(titanic sinking with survivors on life boats) 15. Lady Jane Grey(portrait with her downfall in the background)(the red crown with the red leaking onto her hands represents how, even though she was innocent, her crown automatically took that innocence away, as if it put blood on her hands) 16. A classical book (crime and punishment fanart! That's Raskolnikov then Razumikhin) 17. Laskarina Bouboulina(portrait of her. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with other European pirate ladies and they dont see this woman, the first female Russian naval commander? and a hero of the Greek revolution) 18. Harriet Tubman (portrait in the foreground, her freeing a family of slaves in the background, bottom left is the scene where she was hit in the head with a heavy object for not stopping a runaway slave, bottom right is her giving a speech about equality) 19. flapper (a couple's portrait) 20. WWI (this is very detailed, so I won't be posting it until i finish) 21. Queen Victoria (portrait) 22. Margaret d'Anjou 23.Catalina de Aragon 24. Candlelight 25. Arsenic 26. Tsar Alexander I 27.Henrietta Maria 28.Princes in the Tower 29. Selkie 30. Gothic Architecture
