It was pouring, and Holly wanted to run away from her future in that cursed building. But she was Holly Lamara. She was forced to be perfect, and it wasn't like pretty Lamara to disobey. She walked to reluctantly towards the high school, looking back at her maid Sam with dismay. Sam shrugged, and Holly entered the building. The school was definitely large. Everyone was wearing their uniforms and blended together somewhat. Hopefully no one would recognize her as Holly Lamara. However, the properties of each uniform gave the girl unease. The uniform allowed each student to pick and choose colors, lengths, and garments. Holly wore a long sleeve version of the normal tee in white with ice blue lacing, and that color was matched by her tie. Holly's skirt was long and blue, and she chose to wear white stockings to cover the rest of her skin. Maybe she would stand out. Holly had told herself to wear darker colors, but she had always had an affinity for the color blue. Holly put her bag in her locker, and just as she shut it, a younger girl came up to her and said, "Hi! I've never seen you before." Holly looked at the girl with the corner of her eye, seeing her appearance without giving away her striking Lamara eyes. The girl had curly cyan hair, definitely dyed. She had it tied up in her beanie, it looked like. She chose to wear a t-shirt for the uniform, in white like hers. The lacing and her tie were both orange, and she wore the same color skirt Holly did. She chose to wear a fluffy orange jacket over her shirt. Holly turned to face the girl, aiming her head down so they would recognize her as the "wonderful" singer Audrey Lamara's daughter. She hated publicity. She hated being related to that liar. Most of all, Shae Dimson went to this school. "My name's Lily. What's yours?" the girl asked. "Holl-Lolly," Holly stuttered. "Our names are really similar," Lily remarked. "What's your first class? You look lost." "Homeroom. Mrs. Schwartz? Room A2," Holly recited. "That's my first class as well! You can follow me if you want, Lolly," Lily said. Holly dutifuly followed the bluenette, who lead her to her homeroom. Holly walked into the room with her head down as always. She seated herself next to Lily and behind a blonde girl. "Hello everyone! Some of you are from the middle school, others not, but any of these statuses are fine. I'm Mrs. Schwartz, your homeroom teacher. I'll do attendance and then we can introduce ourselves." Holly gulped. "I have to go grab a paper, I'll be back." Everyone in the room started chatting. She started to eavesdrop on a conversation between the blonde girl and the brown-haired boy in front of her and Lily. "Did you hear Audrey Lamara's new hit single? Wasn't it great?" the boy said. "It was fine. I've heard rumors about that family, and I don't want to support that," the girl responded. "Like what?" "I've heard that Audrey is stealing her vocals, and I've also heard that her daughter Holly is a bully," the girl whispered. Holly was sad to say she was right about the first one. The second one had been true, but she had let go of that status. Especially because she had no friends now. Holly didn't like thinking about that memory. "Hits too close to home, eh? 'Cause of that girl who used to bully you? It's over now. She knows her place," the boy said. "Hope so, Hawky," she responded. The teacher walked back in holding an attendance sheet, clapping to get the class's attention. "We're not little kids, Mrs. Schwartz, we can get quiet on our own," a boy with dreadlocks complained. The girl and her friend Hawky that resided in front of her snickered, while Lily looked downcast. "I'm now ready to take attendance, and Mason, don't talk back." The teacher droned faceless names that Holly really didn't care about. It wasn't until Lily's name was called that she actually started to pay attention. 'She must be getting close to my name,' Holly shuddered. "Hawthorne Saltzman," Mrs. Schwartz called. "Here!" The boy nicked "Hawky" responded. "Shayla Dimson." The ice keeping Holly from being drowned in stress broke. 'She's in my homeroom!' Holly thought. 'She's going to make my life terrible.' "Here!" The girl who was talking to Hawthorne responded. 'Of course she'd be talking bad about me! I was a terrible friend, and she was right. But she's going to kill me!' Holly panicked. The girl felt better when Lily scowled as well. "Holly Lamara?" Lily looked at me pointedly, recognizing my eye color. "Why didn't you tell me," she whispered. I just stood there, paralyzed, as Mrs. Schwartz begged for Holly to respond.
(Series doesn't have a name yet, but I imagine the first book would be called "The Promise." Maybe not though because it is the title of the second book in the Avatar Graphic Novel series.) (Extremely cringy. This is me writing down my thoughts. Lily not recognizing Holly is probably just plot armor, I'll fix that in the second draft.) (This is for the magical girl series. The Promise may be a novella in a novella series instead of a novel series. This may become an audiobook. Or I'll scrap the writing and make it just a comic. If it is a novella, it will be high school life before they recieve their powers. If it's a novel, idk where it will end. Just a note on the series formatting.) (This is a semi-collab between me and @Broadway_NYC. The way our universes are related is a spoiler xD)
