Thank you @MiniSun for the thumbnail! Anyway, story number one, here we go! Just Another Halloween Story (In Progress) By Art_Author The Pumpkin King was a brittle, sour old man, with yellow teeth and a wand so worn down it was the size of his longest finger. His favorite thing to do was to boss little baby pumpkins around by yelling “Do this!” Or “Get me this!” at them. He liked seeing them briskly stride around with their little stumpy legs that they grew on in order to move, trying to figure out where something was, or what to do in fright. The pumpkins knew that if they disobeyed the king, they would be turned into pumpkin pie and eaten for dessert! Now, one thing you must know about the Pumpkin King is that his wand doesn’t really work! He always threatened to use it but never did, and it wasn’t like he could. The pumpkins were so scared of the King that they didn’t need him to threaten them with his wand for them to do what he wanted. So, obviously, the pumpkin rebellion started. It all started with a little pumpkin named Lina… “Daddy, daddy! Can I have another leaf, please?” Little Lina asked her dad, “Please? I’m so hungry!” Lina was a small white pumpkin with smooth, soft skin and her smile was the highlighted colour of the sun. The little light in her shined so brightly in the moonlight and in the daytime, although her light went out, you could still see her heart shine. “No, Lina, you know we can’t afford more than one leaf a night. I am sorry, but we can’t give you two every night, we can only afford to do that on special days.” Lina’s father was a nice old pumpkin. He was a light orange pumpkin, who was very round and his stem was very short, and very wide. Lina did not have a stem yet. Well, not much of one, anyway. “Which is why we're saving up for next week, when it is your next birthday!” Pumpkins aged very quickly. One month they are three, the next they’re four. Lina was turning 6 this month, she was earning the title “Pumpkin”, instead of “Little”. So she would become “Pumpkin Lina” instead of “Little Lina”. She was very excited about this. She would finally be a grown pumpkin, and she would get her soul fire! A soul fire is an eternal flame that gets put inside the pumpkins, and goes out in the day but then comes back in the nighttime. The pumpkins are carved out when they are cut off the stalk. When you place a small, fake fire lantern made of plastic inside the carved out pumpkin, the pumpkin becomes alive. Now, the only reason Lina’s dad is her dad is because the little pumpkins are put into groups - white pumpkins with white pumpkins, orange with orange. Lina’s dad was clarified as a white pumpkin because he was not really orange, although he had a hint or orange in him. <^^>-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--ˏˋˊˎ-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-<^^> The next day when Lina woke up she went outside and looked up. It was a beautiful day, sun high in the sky, almost no clouds at all. She smelled the morning air, it smelled like morning dew on a flower, mixed with the sweet sound of shouting. Shouting? Lina thought, she looked straight ahead and saw nothing, but when she looked behind her, she saw chaos. "What is all this?" Lina rushed up to her father and tugged on his stem. "Thank goodness you're awake. We are getting ready for the great hall gathering. You know that not everybody is ready, but you are coming today. I tried to wake you up but you wouldn't wake up!"
