Appletail's quest I Ch.2

e --------- The next morning Appletail awoke to a paw proding her back. She opened her eyes to find Robinpaw looking down at her, eyes shining happily when she that Appletail was awake."Come on, Appletail! It's time to leave!" The events of yesterday came flooding back to Appletail. She and three other cats were to go in the direction of the other three Clan's, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan, and try to bring them back, "to fix their mistake." Appletail groaned as she got up, and followed Robinpaw out of the den.In the clearing, it seemed as though every cat in the Clan were there. They all turned their heads to look at Appletail as she entered the clearing, and their eyes followed her as she made her way to where Duckpaw and Burningpelt were siting. They sat beside the great oak, waiting for a sign to leave. A few heartbeats later, Leafstar bounded down from her den in the great oak. She padded over to the questing cats saying, "Today you leave for an important mission. I trust that you will complete it, and make your Clanmates proud." Turning to her kits she added, "Be careful, alright? I don't want you dying in unknown land. Take care of each other for me." Duckpaw and Robinpaw nodded then touched noses with their mother. A nostalgic feeling for her own mother seemed to overwhelm Appletail as she watched the family part words. Her own mother had died when Appletail was an apprentice. But she shook the memory away. Leafstar backed away and turned to Appletail and Burningpelt. "Please make sure they don't die. I'm trusting you to take care of them." Raising her voice she said, "May StarClan light your path, as you venture into the unknown, and find the other Clan's camp. Remember, your most likely to find them living together. Go straight north and you'll find them." Leafstar dipped her head and added, "Go now. There's no time to waste." The questing cats bowed there heads, and, as they turned to leave, heard the cheers of their Clanmates as they begun their quest. "I can't belive we're doing this!" Duckpaw exlcamed. Robinpaw aggreed cheerfully while Burningpelt only mumbled something under his breath. "Yeah." Appletail responded half-heartedly. "We're doing this.. for the Clan's." -----
