Hello! This is my beautiful little Asgardian Fan-Fic!!! (hold your applause til the end- jk lol) Chapter Below!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter One: Preparations -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- "Ase, are you absolutely sure that this looks okay?" Sylvi Odinsdottir, yes, the daughter of Odin the All-Father, asked and stared at herself in the mirror. Ase laughed. "Syl, you look fine. Stop worrying!" "I know, but it's Thunderhead's coronation and I at least want to look acceptable in front of the court," Sylvi sighed, readjusting her blonde braids so they fell right down her back. Ase tied the sash of the Princess's flowing yellow dress. "Exactly. /Thunderhead's/ coronation. All you have to do is smile and cheer, and then you can enjoy yourself." Sylvi nodded. She couldn't suppress a gentle grin."Yes, I know. Why am I worrying?" Her handmaiden shrugged. She turned and her and Ase embraced. "You look great. Just put your sugariest smile and circlet on and you should be good to go," Ase grinned. Sylvi laughed. "I just hope Thor won't be such a boaster this time," She said, sitting down at her vanity in her large, gold-entwined suite and slipping her golden circlet on. "Nobody can stop Thor from being that way," Ase pointed out. "He's just a bragger by nature." "I think 'bragger' is an understatement," She scoffed. Thor, her older, taller, more muscular, brother /deeply/ enjoyed gloating about all his many successes. It drove Sylvi and Loki up the wall, though Loki was better at hiding it. She was surprised that Thor had a better reputation. She'd trained alongside Loki and Thor in their little race- to-become-Father's-number-one that had been going on for more than several years. She had Thor's entire speech memorized, plus all the Asgardian laws and treaties as well. Yet she'd likely never be Queen of Asgard. She knew that. For one, she had inherited her mother's magical abilities. Nobody would want a sorceress on the throne. Also, Sylvi was the second-born- well, technically her and Loki were /both/ the second-born- and so there really wasn't any use for her. She'd probably just get married off to some immature prince from some other realm as a peace treaty, and she knew she wasn't going to enjoy it. But she continued trying to learn, in hopes that /maybe/ Odin would notice and regard her talents. "Asgard to Sylvi?" Sylvi blinked and noticed Ase waving a hand in front of her face. "Oh, sorry," She apologized. "Got lost in thought." "You better not do that during the ceremony," She heard a familiar, teasing voice from behind her. "I don't want to have to summon a demon to wake you up." Her and Ase both turned to look. It was Loki, Sylvi's mysterious, black-haired, skinny twin brother, wearing his trademark smirk and leaning against her bedpost with his arms folded. His greasy black hair curled at the nape of his neck, and he was wearing his armor and horned helmet, as of which- she would never tell Loki this -she thought was extremely ridiculous. "Loki?!" Ase said, a bit surprised, right as Sylvi returned the smirk and said, "I might have to. Father's speech is going to be long and Thor might mix up the words." "Again," Loki and Sylvi said at the same time. Ase shook her head. "How do you guys do that?" "Would you believe me if I said telepathy?" Sylvi grinned, her and Loki exchanging smug glances. "I'm willing to believe /anything/ at this point," The maid sighed, nodding to the princess as she left the room with Sylvi's cerulean dress she'd been wearing prior to the preparations for the ceremony. Loki stood, arms still folded. "I just came to check on you. The ceremony begins in twenty minutes and Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogun are already waiting in the throne room." "Already?" Sylvi quirked an eyebrow. "Wow, they're dedicated." "You're telling me," Loki smirked. "I honestly can't believe Thor has so many friends," "I can." Sylvi shrugged. "Agree to disagree," She turned with one last glance in the mirror and then turning to Loki. "Shall we?" Loki gave a nod and they walked out of her room together, and walked side by side until they reached the dimly lit hall below the throne room. She saw the outline of her brother, Thor, and leaned against a wall near him as Loki approached. "Nervous, brother?" He inquired, coming to stand next to him. "Have you ever known me to be nervous?" Thor asked in his less-refined, gruff-sounding voice. "Well, there was that one time in Nornheim..." Loki began. Sylvi smiled at the memory. "That wasn't nerves, brother. It was the rage of the battle. How else could I have fought my way through a hundred warriors and pulled us out alive?" Thor said. "As I recall, I was the one who veiled us in smoke to ease our escape," Loki retorted. She stepped out of the shadows to stand beside her brothers. "He speaks the truth," She said, amusedly. "When did you get here?" Thor asked.

"Oh, a while ago," Sylvi acted innocent. Thor gave her a skeptical look, then glanced at his goblet of wine from an attendant who had walked up beside him. "Some do battle, others do tricks," He said, seemingly ignoring Sylvi's comment. The attendant snickered. Loki tapped Sylvi on the back. She turned and looked over at him, confused, then realized what he was going to do with a grin. Before anyone else could have noticed, eels slipped out of the goblet and the attendant shrieked, dropping the goblet. "Loki!!" Thor exclaimed angrily. Sylvi fought back a laugh. Loki smirked and motioned with his hand to the spilled wine, which shattered the illusion. "Now, that was just a waste of good wine." "Just a bit of fun," Loki said innocently. "Right, my friend?" The attendant looked distraught and a small giggle escaped Sylvi's lips. The attendant then glared and walked away. Thor picked up his equally ridiculous helmet from where it sat beside him and put it on. "Nice feathers," Loki grinned. Sylvi broke and laughed. Thor rolled his eyes. "You don't really want to start this again, do you, Cow?" Sylvi laughed even harder. Loki elbowed her and she stopped, wheezing, "Sorry." "I was being sincere," Loki protested. "You're incapable of sincerity." Thor then looked at Sylvi. "Both of you." "Am I?" Sylvi and Loki said at the same time, then glancing at each other. Loki's turquoise eyes lost their joking shine. "I've looked forward to this day as long as you have. You're my brother and my friend. Sometimes I'm envious, but never doubt that I love you." He said, completely seriously. Thor looked at Loki carefully, then, apparently sensing no underlying joke, put a hand on his shoulder. Sylvi broke their moment a few seconds later. "How precious," She said with a smile. "Stop," Thor said, playfully elbowing Sylvi. Sylvi laughed. "Okay, okay," "How do I look?" He asked the twins. "Perfect," Sylvi said as Loki said, "Like a king." They exchanged glances again as a ceremonial horn blasted. "We'd better go," She said. Loki nodded, motioning at Thor. "I'll be along. Go ahead." Sylvi and Loki looked at each other, then at Thor, as if reading each other's minds. "Alright. Good luck!" She called after Thor and her and Loki walked into the palace. -EnD-
