(Best viewed in fullscreen) Hello this is the first of my character reference and theme song project series. This is one of my D&D characters that I made for the Eberron campaign setting. She is a shifter monk. Her subrace is Beasthide*, and her monk subclass is Kensei (from Xanathar's Guide). -Name: Melyssa 'Mel' Flytte** -Age: 28 -Height: 5'3" -Eyes: Dark grey -Hair: Creamy white w/ dark greyish brown sides -Skin: Brown w/ light and dark flecks (mild sunburn) -Clothing: Baggy grey/brown pants w/ purple belts, maroon tank top w/ bronze colored embroidery, jade colored bag w/ leather straps that have trinkets hanging all over them, cloth hand wraps, quarterstaff, strangely engraved goggles*** -Personality: Fairly confident in her abilities, but will occasionally fail horrifically, will often poke fun at people, even if she doesn't know them, will get panicky when under pressure or stressed. She's often the comic relief of a group. She is a collector, which is my homebrew background for her**** -Theme song: Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles--I think the attitude of the song very much fits her personality--it's very fun and lighthearted, but it also has a bit of a "Come at me, bro" and "Don't mess with me" energy. *So Mel is a Beasthide Shifter, which basically means when she 'shifts', she gains a more bestial appearance, one that is akin to a creature known for it's toughness. Her beast form is akin to a badger, hence the color of her hair. **Mel's name has some etymology that relates to her badger shifting: Melyssa comes from melinae, which means badger, and her last name, Flytte, is Norwegian, and means move or shift (I'm sorry if the translation isn't accurate, I got it from Google translate) ***Mel has a pair of goggles that are very strange. They are embedded with pearls and have engravings of owl feathers around the edges, and they can be used to cast 'Identify' once a day without any verbal, somatic, or material components. In addition, the wearer gains advantage on any ability checks to inspect small or detailed objects. These goggles are used in accordance with her background. ****Mel's background is one that I homebrewed just for her. It is called Collector, and it basically means that she collects rare and special artifacts.
