press flag !!! ~click the project to see the bio and extra art~ when you get to the bio, click the little circle thingy !! I drew a reference sheet and two digital things Ahhhhhh this was very rushed and also like a few hours late!! I thought it'd be due at midnight on the 14th but it turns out that the DTA closed halfway through the day. Please let me in I worked really hard on this entry :') I did spend awhile brainstorming a juicy backstory though. I really love her design (especially the mask and the rope) I'm also pretty proud of the background I drew for the main piece :) Name: Yuna Age: 17 Pronouns: she/her Sexuality: Straight and Asexual Height: 5 7' Weight: 115 Likes: nature, helping others, animals, the dark Dislikes: criminals, dishonesty, worms Backstory (kinda long sorry!!) Ever since she could remember, Yuna was enthralled in the world of herbology. Her mom, a herbalist/apothecary, helped to spark her passion as Yuna was constantly exposed to all sorts of plants and medicines. The two of them lived in a small cottage along with their pet raven Sycamore in the Plagian Woods. Though many believe the Plagian Woods to be dangerous and haunted, its unique flora and fauna proved to be incredibly effective in potions and medicine. Plus, the forest seemed to be incredibly friendly to Yuna. The little critters seemed to greet her as she walked by and the plants and shrubs would always sway slightly towards her as if they were bowing. Yuna helped her mom provide herbal remedies to those who couldn't afford traditional medicine. She would often hear her mom complain about the flawed medical system that only seemed to take advantage of the poor. Medical debts stuck to people like leeches and followed them for the rest of their life, sucking their pockets dry. Due to her role in helping the less fortunate Yuna began to develop a strong sense of self righteousness. She began to see herself as morally superior at a young age, believing she could do no harm. Yuna lived peacefully for most of her life until her mom mysteriously disappeared while going on a herb foraging trip. There was no way her mom got lost in the forest as she knew the landscape by heart. Knowing this, Yuna slowly (and reluctantly) came to the conclusion that her mom was assassinated. Her mom had become rather infamous and was often sought after for her cheap remedies. Though her infamy gained hundreds of customers, it also caught the attention of medical companies and the government. Her mother’s shop violated several laws, and lessened the demand for the high-priced and unfair medical treatments provided by the government. Due to this, a government run medical company had called for her assassination. For several days, Yuna did nothing except lie in bed out of disbelief. She would’ve continued this endless loop of sorrow when suddenly. the sudden ring of the doorbell broke her trance. Gradually, Yuna got to her feet and began helping the customer waiting at the door. Though it was a slow process, Yuna began to take over the shop and slowly returned to her old routine of foraging for herbs, creating remedies, and serving customers. Thoughts of her mom’s death still lingered in the back of her head, but she constantly pushed them away with thoughts of her shop and helping others. But, one day, Yuna couldn’t get the thought of her loss out of her mind. No matter what she did, her mom’s death always arose and took control of her thoughts. While working on a potion for a customer, she had accidentally fumbled up a couple of ingredients and incorporated a dose of fatal Nearylium Leaves into the potion. As she instructed her patient to take a dose, she watched in horror as his now lifeless body started to crumple to the floor. Her honest nature pushed her to go turn herself in for murder, as she always took pride in her self-righteousness and good morals. As she trudged through the forest and into a nearby village, she saw a familiar face on a piece of paper below her feet. She gingerly picked up the paper, as her eyes widened in shock. The man she had mistakenly killed was the same man on the wanted poster in her hands. Turns out, he had been wanted for several accounts of murder as he was an assassin who had made quite the name for himself in the underworld.
Backstory continued Yuna began to walk back home, feeling conflicted towards the hurricane of events that had just spiraled towards her. But, her sense of justice and the hatred she had towards the assassin who had killed her mom made her believe what she had done was right. In a way, she convinced herself that she had done the world a service by ridding it of evil. This constant reaffirming that she was in the right helped Yuna to cope with the guilt of murdering someone. Slowly, Yuna convinced herself that instead of helping others, she could be more good by working to kill evil people who caused harm onto the earth (Light Yagami is that you???). Overtime, Yuna began to focus on creating poisons to give to wives with abusive husbands, or concocting mysterious pills that her pet raven, Sycamore, could mysteriously slip into the food of power hungry executives, murderers, or anyone she deemed as “evil”. She had a relatively foolproof system to carry out this desire of hers. Yuna would first collect a possession belonging to the person she wished to eliminate (which was often brought to her by clients or she had to search for something herself). Then, she’d provide a scrap of their belongings, and give it to Sycamore so he could track them down. Sycamore was also given a small capsule filled with a toxic liquid. He would then be instructed to find the target according to their scent and drop a few drops of the liquid in their food, water, or clothing. In a way, Yuna had become some sort of a vigilante/assassin (haha ironic!! Yuna hated the man who killed her mother and justified the killing of the assassin she poisoned. But, she has now become an assassin which was the very thing she hated. Despite the hypocrisy in her actions, Yuna continues to see herself as a good person who deserves to live. This is because Yuna still believes she is morally superior, hence her belief that she can make the best decisions for the world.)
