(this is just my opinion. I LOVE the Wof series, and I just wanted to express some gripes i have with it) So I don't really like Peacemaker. Yeah, he's cute, he's funny, its not really his character I don't like, it's the idea it represents. A few chapters before Darkstalker is defeated he has a conversation with Qibli. This is one of my favourite parts of the book. It's philosophical and makes you think. In this conversation Darkstalker changes Vulture into different personalities. Qibli is horrified by this (and rightfully so). Qibli thinks that a dragon should not be changed with magic, even if it's instead of death. I have no problem with this scene, it's the scenes after I dont like. Qibli has struggled with this throughout the book (the idea of changing a dragon's personality with Animus powers) and now has concluded that magic used to manipulate other dragons is wrong. So why is it that when Darkstalker is stripped of his entire personality and even physical attributes (being turned half-rainwing) is this never questioned? That is my problem. He is manipulated by animus magic without consent and nobody thinks about how wrong this is. Yes, he is a dangerous dragon and has to be stopped, and if this is the only idea that would work to stop him then go ahead. But at least address the hypocrisy of it. Anyway, thats just my opinion and thanks for reading!
