Heya. This is ventish, fyi Recently I had to deal with getting bullied, threatened, and getting called slurs at school, which is my fuel for making this project. You can't tell me homophobia doesn't exist or isn't bad, I've been through it. You are in fact homophobic if you "don't support" or "disagree with" the lgbtq+ community. The community isn't an opinion, so what is there to disagree with? It's literally people who love differently than you. You're not better than these people in anyway, just because you're "normal". And to those of you I can already hear typing: "just because they don't agree doesn't mean they're homophobic!" You don't have to be actively abusing lgbtq+ people to be considered a homophobe. Here's the dictionary definition: a person with a dislike of or prejudice against gay people. "not supporting" these people because they're in love with someone or because they don't feel comfortable in the gender they were assigned at birth seems pretty prejudiced to me. Another topic: hating on the lgbtq+ community just because "it's against your religion" is a bad argument. No one has to listen to, follow, or mold themselves to your belief system. It might be your truth, but it isn't theirs, and they certainly don't have to listen to it. Now then. It seems we have made it to the subject of straight pride. I've had people ask me "Why isn't there a straight pride?" or "Why do you get a pride month?" Well why don't you go research the stonewall riots (there's a link in notes and credits) and research the horrible crimes that used to be carried out against lgbtq+ people. Go through oppression and hardship like that and then we'll talk. Being lgbtq+ is NOT a choice, and it IS natural. Love is love, and no hater or homophobe has the power or right to define what love can be. Stay safe and be yourself.
