Episode 8 : The Past The next day, Meg was still at her house sewing stuff while Dash and Lightning were taking boxes of supplies to the church. Lightning looked over at Dash when she got out of the truck and asked him, “ So.... have you been feeling okay lately? “ . Dash looked over at her, “ Erm... yeah, totally. “ Dash replied. “ You don’t sound okay.... you know you can tell me if anything is wrong. “ Lightning said. “ Yeah.... I know. “ Dash said sadly and then looked away. “ See? I knew it, what’s up? “ Lightning asked. “ I’m.... fine, Light. Really.... “ Dash replied. “ Ugh, Dash I can tell something is on your mind..... “ Lightning said. Dash sighed and grabbed some boxes, “ If I tell you, you have to promise not to tell anyone. “ Dash said. “ Promise, so what’s up? “ Lightning asked while grabbing some boxes. “ You see.... I don’t feel it but I know the reason why my eyes flash every so often. “ Dash said. “ Why?.... I noticed that once. “ Lightning replied. “ When I was a kid, my dad went into battle to stop the enemy from taking over my home city. But unfortunately, the leader of the group made himself look like a normal citizen and tricked me into helping him. And well.... he sorta tricked me into..... well..... “ Dash tried to say but felt like he was going to tear up. “ Into what?.... “ Lightning asked him as she sat the boxes down. “ Destroying my father...... “ Dash said and he tried not to cry. A frown grew across Lightning’s face and he put a hand on Dash’s shoulder, “ I’m so sorry.... that’s so awful.... so that’s how your father vanished all those years ago.... “ Lightning said. “ I’ll never forgive myself for that.... and on top of that, the head of the squad put a spell on me that causes my eyes to glow every so often and I could cause unknown damage..... “ Dash explained. “ Okay, now that’s bad.... is there anyway to break the spell? “ Lightning asked. “ All he told me was this.... “ Those who can truly control your shattered heart might be able to destroy my evil. “ “ Dash said. Lightning thought for a moment and tried to think about what the riddle meant. “ That’s a tough one.... but we need to figure it out. The last thing we need to is your evil magic that was out inside of you to ruin the entire wedding. “ Lightning said. “ That’s what I’m worried about... I don’t want to ruin this for Meg...... “ Dash said while setting some boxes inside. “ I’m not gonna let you if that magic does get to you. But we need to tell the others so they can help solve the riddle. “ Lightning said. “ NO! Meg can’t know this is happening to me.... it has to remain a secret, Light. I’ve been able to manage the spell from taking over me for years, but at some point, I might not be able to stop it. “ Dash said. “ But Dash.... Meg needs to know the truth! “ Lightning said. “ I don’t want to scare her! “ Dash replied. “ It will scare her more once it actually happens and she has no clue what it is. “ Lightning explained. “ True but.... I just... argh, don’t know. “ Dash said. “ Dash, forget about this subject for a while. You need to clear your mind, you don’t wanna turn into your Dark Form do you? “ Lightning asked. “ That’s the last thing I want.... well, and Meg giving up on me. “ Dash replied. “ I would think so, now, let’s bring the rest of these boxes. I think there’s at least fifty something left to bring into the church. “ Lightning explained. Dash nodded slightly at her, “ Alrighty Light, lead the way. “ Dash said. Lightning smiled slightly at her cousin as she grabbed three more boxes from inside the truck. Dash smiled warmly and grabbed a few of the boxes as well to carry inside the church. Even though Lightning said to let it go for a while, Dash couldn’t help but ponder about that riddle once again. He was determined to figure out the riddle, and stop the evil inside of him from causing chaos throughout Meg and his wedding in a few weeks. But he wasn’t sure if he would be able to figure it out in time all by himself with just Lightning’s support.
