His legs pulsed, his bones shook. Bam! His body shot forward like a cheetah hunting its prey. He was getting closer to the giant jungle tree. 4 seconds. 3 seconds. He flexed his claws. 2 seconds. 1 second. Scritch! His front claws latched on to the rough bark, and he pumped his legs upward. He started skimpering up the tree. "I think I got it this time, slimey!" He glanced up at the small worm that was resting on his head. Scritch scritch! Oak's claws were starting to slide down the bark. "No!" His left claw popped off of the bark and it sent him thumping down on the ground. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to the book The Most Beautiful Roof In The World by Kathryn Lasky. The pictures in the book by Christopher G. Knight are so amazing and I thought I would draw something rainforest-like.
