Yet another chapter of Hrule wars haha. This is the last chapter before things start to get DARK with Veralia, so look forward to that haha. This one is from Tarence's POV, as you can see below. Also, feel free to ask any questions you have in the comments, I'd love to answer them! ^v^ Past chapters if you missed them: Chapter one: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/437492851 Chapter two: Lost Tarence POV I didn’t know where to go or what to do. I was panicking. I needed to get away from the cave, but what if I needed shelter, or ran into the guardian again? I needed food, but what if the food I find is poisonous? I’d probably die right then and there. I realized what I was doing and tried to calm down. I took a deep breath and heard the faint sound of music from nearby. I immediately ran towards the sound as soon as I figured out what it was. Mom had told us stories about Dad’s adventures, and one of the things she had mentioned was a traveling rito that would give him advice. He should know where I can find food or water or people! I ran through the trees and spotted a flash of bright blue through the leaves. I ran towards that direction and reached the area where i had decided the music was the loudest. But… where is he? I thought. I kicked a tree in frustration and was surprised by a voice saying, “Excuse me!” I looked up into the tree and saw a blue, white and yellow rito glaring at me, surprised. “I-I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were up there. I heard your music, and was trying to see who was playing it, and when I couldn’t find you, I got frustrated and kicked the tree.”, I stuttered. “Well, that’s quite alright.” Kass said and smiled. He hopped out of the tree (literally). Man this bird was tall. “You must be Link’s boy! I’m Kass, nice to meet you young Prince!” He held out his hand, no wait, wing, for me to shake. I kind of panicked at the fact he knew who I was. I hesitantly took it for a shake. “Uhm, how did you know I was the son of Link?” I asked. “I could spot those bright blue eyes from a mile in the sky!” He chuckled. But how did he know that Dad had kids? I mean, he is the king, but I wouldn’t think that someone who travels so much would have access to news and stuff. “How do you know my dad?” I asked. Of course I already knew, but I wanted to see what he would say. “Well, we encountered each other on our separate adventures multiple times, and I like to think that I managed to help him in his quest at least in some small way.” That matched up pretty well to Mom’s stories, so I figured I could trust him. “Would you like to hear a song? Maybe that will help you on your quest.” A song? What in the Sealed Grounds? I wasn’t quite sure what to say to this. A song? “Okay?” I said questionly. “Great!” Kass smiled. “Hmm now let’s see, what were the words again? Oh yes I remember now.” What was wrong with this bird? He held his accordion and began playing beautiful music. And he started to sing. “Upon a sight A hero of light, one of familiar might May never return. When Hyrule once again plunges in night She be with child, Hyrule needs a hero For one to betray thine own. Demons hike the grounds Of which was regrown, But the night freezes as the light becomes known” I don’t know why that song hit me so hard. I had no clue what it meant, but I felt like I should. Kass lowered his accordion. “I learned that from the former queen herself,” he said. I was shocked. “Wait, what? Like, my grandmother?” I asked confused. “Why, yes! Lovely Hylian,” Kass responded. My grandmother, taught Kass that song, but why did I care so much? Why was I feeling some sort of connection to this song? Mom always said in the story’s she told about Dad’s adventures that Kass’s songs always helped him in some way.Why had Kass sung this specific song my grandmother taught him, to me? Maybe I was just overthinking. Yeah, he probably just sang it to me because it was taught to him by my grandmother. That would make sense. “A-anyways, do you know where exactly I am? I’m kinda lost, and I need to get back to the castle.” Kass’ face fell. “Well, I would love to take you back, but I promised a dear friend of mine that I would meet them here today, and I can’t let them down.” “Well, then I can just wait until you’re done meeting them. I’ll just go back to and wait somewhere else until you're done.” Kass smiled. “That should work out nicely. It shoudn’t take too long anyways.” I headed away from the tree as Kass continued to play his song. I wasn’t quite sure where I was going to wait. I decided I might as well go back go the cave, as it wasnt too far away.As I made my way towards the cave, I looked around at the forrest surrounding me. Only if I could get to a high place to see better. That’s when I had an idea. I’ll climb to the top of a tree, why didn’t I think of that before?wondering for a little time before I found a pretty tall tree. I looked up the big trunk. Now how in the Hyrule am I going to climb that?
I My thinking was interrupted by the spotting of another guardian. On the other side of this very large tree was a wetland where I could clearly see a guardian and a hinox. I’ve heard about Hinox’s in the stories Mom told, but never had I seen one. I wanted to away from there as quickly as possible, but it was too late. The guardian had it’s eye on me. Well f- FWOOSH FLEMBOOOM! The blast hit a tree right next to me, and it burst into flames and fell over. I didn’t know what to do but run. I ran through the forest. The trees swiped passed me as the guardian continued to try and blow me up. Man these things had a long range. I ran out into a clearing and took a sharp left as I heard it make the fire once again. It missed me even more narrowly than before. I ran as fast as I could away from it, taking sharp turns to avoid the laser blasts. How was Dad able to fight an army of these things?? I was just barely surviving one! I narrowly dodged another blast and shouted, “KASS! KASS WHERE ARE YOU?” I continued running and dodging, and assumed that Kass couldn't hear me. I spotted a part of the forest that was denser than the one I was running through at the moment, and decided to run into it, so that hopefully the guardian couldn’t get through the trees. I had to pay much more attention to where I was going, because if I didn’t, I would probably get knocked unconscious by a low branch or a tree trunk. The guardian couldn’t get through the trees, but it was still firing its laser blindly, hoping to hit me on a lucky shot. As I got farther away from it, the sounds of it grew weaker, and were replaced by an eerie silence. I was just now realizing that this part of the forest was covered in a thick fog. I could only see about 5 feet in front of me before things started disappearing into the mist. I had no idea where I had come into the forest, but that didn't matter, because right then I wanted to get as far away from the guardian as I could. I chose a direction and walked towards it. I ended up outside the forest, and immediately turned around and went straight back in before I was attacked again. When the fog started to clear after a bit, I thought I had reached the complete other side of the forest, but it was the same exact spot I had entered in the first place. I must have just gotten turned around, I thought as I headed back in. This time, I was determined to not lose my sense of direction again, but was disappointed when I arrived at the same spot outside the forest for the third time. This time, however, I decided to grab a torch that was stuck in the ground near me, to try and see better in the fog. I hadn’t noticed it the last few times I’d ended up here, but I must have just not been paying attention. I picked it up and held it out in front of me as I walked, being careful to not set any trees on fire. A thought occurred to me as I was walking. How was this torch lit, and why was it even there in the first place? Did someone live in these woods? If so, they must not like being around people much, because almost no one came out here, most likely. While I walked and thought, I didn’t notice that the fog had started to lift, and light was reaching through the trees and touching the ground, illuminating the usually dark forest. That is, I didn’t notice until I reached a clearing with a gigantic tree in the middle of it. That was when I looked around and saw that the menacing silence of the woods had been replaced by the sound of birds, bugs, and the voices of people. Maybe someone did live out here, after all! I looked around to see where the voices were coming from, but couldn’t see anyone right away. What I did see, though, was a crumbling stone pedestal with some carvings, and an indentation in the middle. A ray of light shone through a gap in the trees that illuminated it. I took a closer look and noticed that there were silent princesses growing around it. They were my Mom’s favorite flower, and mine too. I was tempted to pick one, but I decided against it. They were already somewhat endangered, and having one wouldn’t do anything for me, except maybe make me homesick, so I left them. I looked up at the big tree and noticed that it looked like there was a face on it. I smiled and continued exploring the area, somehow in a better mood than before. My good mood was somewhat ruined when I couldn’t find any people, although I continued hearing the voices. I couldn’t quite make out exactly what they were saying, but it sounded like they were having a conversation. I also couldn’t tell if it was more than one person, or not. I looked back at the pedestal. That’s when I noticed it. A Triforce engraving. Wait, is that..? I walked over to it and bent down to get a closer look. It was the Triforce. And this was where Dad’s sword was kept. “Hello, Your Highness.” This chapter was written by @MesaBluff2 and @Artymis1121 Art is by @Artymis1121
