part of my second big project for shader programming, in which we're supposed to make a photorealistic shader for an object. Like literally we're supposed to take a photo of the original object and an alternate photo that's the same but without the original object and then put this one in and have it be pretty much indistinguishable. This is part of what I'm uploading tonight/tomorrow for the... second, I believe, step of the project, the basic shader model. Step three will be adding finishing touches and compositing it into the final picture. And I definitely think I need to fix some of this shader model in step 3 -- the outer resin needs to be a bit glossier on the highlights I think, and I should probably fenagle with the normals on the underlying stuff and... sorry, I'm basically just talking to myself here. Anyways. yeah. this is what i have. i figured i'd upload what had rendered so far to pass the time while I wait for mantra to render the rest. ((oh yeah and the normals on the numbers definitely seem to be kinda weird like I'm not sure what but something is definitely, almost hypnotically wrong with the indent on the number 8 but based on the angle that one won't actually show up in the final image so maybe it's not a problem? idkkkkkkk I'm still really happy about figuring out the underlying layer and iridescense stuff in there though
Made in Houdini with a student license (so I'm a little nervous about whether it's even legal to upload here... hh). do not steal.
