This project isn't about me wanting likes or knowing that these things are popular. This is about me KNOWING that Black people NEED more representation, they NEED more acknowledgment. The second you push that handy-dandy green flag at the top of this project, just a part of you, no matter how small, is admitting this problem, the fact that amazing people are being killed by the hands of people who they never have met in their lives. What sets them apart is that these people are people of color, people who identify as Black, African-American, people of color, and so much more. We, not as a people, but as a UNITED FRONT need to really look at this issue and give it our full attention, even if it is just for a fraction of a second. We need to open our eyes to the matter at hand, and see that this is a huge problem in our world, not just back in the old 1800s, but also TODAY, as we face segregation in new and more challenging ways. Now, I know I'm no MLK, nowhere close, but I want you to think about his words for a second. He didn't want us to stand divided, he wanted us to unite as a people, a united nation, what we are supposed to be and what we want to stand for. Think about that as you watch this. Think about all the people that have died at the hands of merciless police. Not just that, but think about all the people who have to be afraid as they step out of their residence. Afraid of the unknown. Afraid that when they get back, no one will be there. This is what MLK was fighting against. Now you have to make the choice: Do YOU want to fight?
SPACEBAR TO CHANGE SLIDES. Also, thank you to EVERYONE who supports the cause of BLM! You, in your own ways, all truly help and contribute. Oh, and here is a recording of MLK's most famous speech: 'I have a dream' https://www.npr.org/2010/01/18/122701268/i-have-a-dream-speech-in-its-entirety If it doesn't show up as a hyperlink, just copy+paste it It works best on full screen. Other notes: Thanks to YOU for watching this project. Thanks to MLK for being one of the people who stood up for what he believed in. :) And thank you Joe Biden for promising to help us get past these hard times.
