(Singular) Levro (plural) Levrolai'i Habitat: Barrier reefs, and sometimes they venture a bit beyond Average Lifespan: 17-20 years (quite short compared to many animals in this world) Diet: clams, mussels, shrimp, oysters, whelk, crab, lobster, fish, plankton, really just about anything. Physical features: Levrolai'i have bright green eyes on stalks that can turn in just about every direction and round heads, that can be squashed so they can fit through tiny openings. All full-grown levrolai'i have a single horn for defense. The smile on their face is actually just a marking, and their actual mouth is a beak like an octopus. They have feathery gills like an axolotl, and arms like an octopus. They also have a feathery "hand" which they use to catch plankton and other small things, and then move it to their beak. Normally it is just the babies that eat plankton, and as you will find out later, levrolai'i take care of their young as a very serious and important matter. They can camouflage themselves too. Tier (the tiers decree how blessed with magic the species is by The Artist) Fourth tier out of Nine tiers. Danger level: Well, of course, all animals on the island of Mysticia need to beware of animals that would eat them, but Levrolai'i actually feed so rarely that normally they are pretty harmless unless attacked of course. In fact, they are generally family-centered, fun-loving, and a bit mischievous. They have been known to send messages in bottles to the mainland to confuse humans, well, the used to until The Artist forbade it. Type of magic: Like many of the creatures here, who live here as a safe haven, Levrolai'i have magic. Theirs is the ability to see different possibilities for the future, the closer the future, the clearer it is. But in truth, they would rather just play. Art: As The Artist, is basically seen as the deity of Mysticia, the Levrolai'i worship the artist, but unlike many creatures who only teach art to their most important, they believe The Artist wishes everyone to learn art, and so they actually use their very own ink which comes in several different colors and can be used to escape predators. They paint large rocks, the backs of sea turtles, and even themselves. Some even say that if the levrolai'i did not paint the backs of turtles then they would just go around with plain yellow shells. In fact, it is said that the levrolai'i paint just about every animal that comes to the reef. Many animals speculate if this is true or not, but The Artist has not claimed it to be false. Number of levrolai'i in the temple academy since it was created: going to the temple academy of the high arts is the highest honor in mysticia, it means that you have been chosen by The Artist. It means you will learn the highest form of art magic, well, second highest, but nobody can get magic as high as The Artist who created a little world with just art. While there have been many levrolai'i in the lower art temples, there have only been 820 levrolai'i in the temple academy of the high arts since it was built nearly 9,000 years ago. That is okay with them, and to be honest, most of them would rather just play and stick to painting sea creatures. Currently, there are just two levrolai'i in the temple academy of the high arts, and the biggest amount they've ever had there is 7. Care of the Young: Levrolai'i actually live very similarly to humans-not that they know much about humans except that they are evil-but parents are usually better. there are gay couples, and they do have the ability to feel romantic attraction. Females give live birth and usually can start to have babies around six years old, whereas males can start breeding at just three years old. For levrolai'i some of the worst crimes are hurting children, and destroying art. Children look basically like mini versions of their parents, but do not yet have the horn, and their beak is kind of squishy. Levrolai'i tend to live in big communities and everyone kind of helps to raise the young, teaching them different skills, good values, how to have fun, to respect all art, how to keep away from danger, but how to be brave when faced with it, and how to catch food. In fact, they care so much about children, that they often adopt orphaned children of many different species. Some levrolai'i may even raise the young of animals they would normally eat, but as with every other species, not every levro acts the same.
