Tashkent (town) illustrated as a letter. Made in Illustrator. My final project for my graphic design with illustrator course. Version 1 - Original Version 2 - Recolored Task: My task was to choose a town, take its first letter, and stylize it with graphical elements, patterns, and textures. Vectorized (by hand) important buildings must be used. Why Tashkent: It's a funny story about why this country in Asia is so close to my heart. So I was playing a really small board game about the different countries in the world. My figure landed on Uzbekistan. I needed to say a national sport. Of course, I didn't know it, so I searched it on Google. The thing that I found was really disturbing. The national sport of Usbekistan is ridiculous and awful featuring the remains of an animal. That's how I remembered Uzbekistan. Then, when I was thinking of a Town to use for my exam it hit me. Why not Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Almost everyone had the same town, so why not use an abstract one (no offense, but abstract for Europe). Limitations: I needed to use as few colors as possible, it all needed to have a finished and not artistic design. It all needed to be in the same style. Update: Got a straight 'A', YES! :D
