Press the green flag, then the start button to begin! (This project works better if you press the green flag multiple times, so please keep that in mind.) If for any reason the project isn't working, press the green flag a couple of times and it should work. When you press the start button, you will be brought the menu, and you can pick what you want to do next. If you want to customize your character, click the ¨Edit your Avatar¨ button. Click on the hair, clothing, and shoes of the character to change them. (Some clothing items give bonuses, try to wear clothing associated with the theme you picked --default theme doesn't have any bonuses, but if you select one from the theme menu, you may receive one-- to get a boost!) To change the theme of the levels, click the "Themes" button (you need to earn coins in the game to buy some of them) To begin the platformer, click the button in the menu labelled "levels", then pick one to play! Use the arrow keys to interact with the map, and earn coins to gain access to new themes! Reach the green star to finish the level, or press "Exit" to leave. I apologize if the game is slightly laggy, or if there are bugs, I did my best to fix them.
I referenced @caocuchinh6b and @PianoApprentice to learn how a platformer worked, so the code that makes the character move is inspired by them but modified and rewritten by me. Everything else is made 100% by me! Side note: If you experience any glitches or anything like that, I apologize. This was a big project--I've never done something like this before-- and I got a tad bit lazy at the end. If there is a glitch, you can comment about it and I will do my best to fix it!
