Chapter 1 Jesse’s perspective I woke up after a horrible, horrible dream. I dreamt about these two robot scarecrows arguing. One of them had a crown and they kept on arguing about the other robot’s name. They eventually agreed on Jimmy but anyway that’s not the important part. I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and it was my father, Ra. I hadn’t seen him since my sixteenth birthday. I told my father what had happened in the dream, about the evil scarecrows who wanted to take over Egypt. My father laughed and said, “how could they take over Egypt when Anubis, Osiris, a bunch of other Gods and I are all protecting it?” The name of my friend James’ Godly parent, Anubis, made me shiver. Last time I met him, he threatened to turn me into a scarab because I laughed at his pointy ears. “I doubt Anubis will protect me,” I muttered. “Nonsense, Jesse. He’s one of my most trusted allies, he wouldn’t hurt you.” “But he’s a child of -” I was cut off by a knock on the door. I opened the door and saw my two best friends, Jimmy and Jane. Jimmy quickly perked up, “who’s the son of who?” he asked curiously. “Anubis is the son of-” I started to say. All of a sudden, Anubis came out of nowhere, “Jesse! Do not speak the name of my father!” he said sternly. “I’ve always wanted to meet grandpa,” said Jimmy. “No, you will not! Once you meet him you will wish you never had! He’s the embodiment of chaos.” “yum” “Jimmy stop that” jane said “what” jimmy said confused “nothing” said jane “Ok” he said sarcastically “Guys” i said “WHAT” thay both yell “Whoa calm down” “No” “Yes yes” “Fine” “Fine” “Thank the gods” I said “your well come” dad said “Very funny Ra” said Anubis sounding sarcastic “Thanks" “Not what I meant” Anubis said “Yeah I kn....” My father got cut off by a giant rumble. “ha ha ha ha ha” we heard the sound of evil laughter that sounded like the laugh in my dream. Then all of a sudden, I got knocked out.
