Chapter 2 Jimmy’s perspective I woke up in a dark room where there was a bunch of dead animal skeletons in front of me. I quickly jumped up, after all I am scared of the dead after that incident when my father tried to bring back my dead puppy Sparkles and it went horribly wrong! I looked for a light switch, but all I could feel was a skull. I jumped back after I felt it but then I went back and grabbed the skull and pulled it. The lights turned on. ‘Whoosh’ I looked around the room and I saw something. I saw my fathers’ flail. It never leaves his side. Why is it in this room? I went to pick it up but before I could, I heard a noise. Someone spoke behind me. “I wouldn’t touch that if I was you,” the voice said. All I could tell from the voice was that it was male or at least trans (I learned along time a go not to assume genders) and it sounded like a Scottish accent. I turned around and I saw the falcon headed god, Horus. I bowed. “Cousin, wait, uncle? What are you to me? “What do mean?” asked Horus. “I’m the son of Anubis. Didn’t he tell you?” I said. Horus laughed. “What’s so funny?” I said. “Anubis having a child, ha doesn’t make me laugh” “I’m not lying” “Then, if you are the child of Anubis, take his flail and wield it. If you die, then you are not a child of Anubis.” “But don’t I go to the afterlife?” I ask? “No. I’ll simply punish you if you lie.” ‘Wow, that’s just rude’ I thought to myself. I ran over to the pedestal and I picked up the flail. Suddenly lightning zapped me and I saw an image of me and my friends, our future. All I could make of it was that there was a giant scarecrow, and we were holding a giant stick. I see myself holding the flail, glowing purple. “Am I dead?” I yelled. “No,” Horus said, “though I wish you were. Anyway, your father was captured by an evil scarecrow. Also, your friends are outside this room, waiting for you. I looked at him. “Did they also get the weapon of their parents?” “Oh yes, I just really don’t like your friend Jane, who was able to use the weapon of our father instead of me.” I rolled my eyes at him. “Well, you probably want me for a quest, so what’s the quest?” “Well, the quest is to retrieve MY weapon of power, the staff of Horus,” he said in a different accent again, something that seemed more like I had imagined based on my father's stories, more British than Scottish. I was about to say something when I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and I saw Jesse and Jane waiting. “Are you done? We’re kind of ready for the quest. We’ve been waiting for an hour for you to get up!” “Well, I was knocked out!” “that is a lie” “Was not” “whatever” “hay do you have any Doritos” “GUYS” Jesse yelled. “what” I said. “we need to go” it was True but I was not ready for what happened next
