Chapter 4 Jesse’s perspective I fell asleep, I was in a dream but felt completely and utterly awake. I was walking down a road that looked like ancient Egypt. I saw Ra and Horus and Sept, they were fighting for what felt like seconds but in reality it was for hours. Then I heard a menacing laugh, the same laugh as the evil scarecrow that took my father. I immediately wake out of shock and fear. I punch the ground next to me, shaking and waking up. As soon as I punch the ground, Jimmy woke up and said, “what was that loud noise” his jackal ears perked up. I replied “I punched the ground, I didn’t make any loud sounds” “well it woke me up” Judging by the moon and the sun rising, it must be around 6.30am in the morning. I kind of knew this being the child of the Sun God. “I forgot about that”, he said smiling. I say “Ok we need to keep walking for a few more hours” Jimmy groans “I’ll go wake up Jane then”. As soon as Jane wakes up, I told her the plan and she said “we’ve been walking a long time yesterday, we need a break, we might die, we also need water and food” “What do you mean, don’t we have food in the bags from yesterday?” “I checked and they disappeared” I look at Jimmy and say “did you eat all of the food?” “No, why would I eat all of the food” he replied with a sad voice, feeling accused of something he didn’t do. Suddenly it felt like Jimmy was a completely different person “we gotta get food, we gotta hunt for some food, find some cactus and get some water” he seemed nervous but kept talking, determined to find food and water. At first I felt like I wanted to argue, but then I realised I am starving and thirsty and said “that’s a good idea”. The only one that wasn’t into the idea was Jane. “I am not going to go hunting and try and find cactus for water, there’s probably not going to be enough cactus with water in it, and the only meat we will find will probably be bugs” she said. Jimmy gave her a smile and said “we can do anything together, we’ve been friends for a very long time, and I believe we can do anything”. Jane blushed a bit and nodded.
