After you press start, the only thing you need to do is press the "Next Gen" (Next Generation) button to view the next set of children. Other than that there's not much to do BUT there are some cool things you can look at: -The Generation variable tells you what generation it is. (Each time you click the Next Gen button or "get a new set of children" it will add one.) -The alleles (Represented by the y's and x's) of each circle or "organism" for both the parents and the children. Things to know: *Remember, capital letters are the dominant trait. -The y "allele" determines color. (Purple = Y, Yellow = y) -The x "allele" determines size. (Normal = X, Small = x) -The numbers on the children are just to number them -The number on the 1st parent (Left) is the number of the randomly chosen child from the previous generation (child 1 - 4) -The "i" on the 2nd parent (Right) means it's just a random circle to change the gene pool. (This is supposed to replicate normal realistic organisms where one reproduces with another that has totally different genes) WARNING: In order to really understand what is being demonstrated, you need to know or have learned about heredity and maybe the basics of genetics and how those things work otherwise to you it may seem like a bunch of pointless letters, colors, and sizes. ALSO: THIS IS MEANT TO BE A VERY VERY SIMPLIFIED BASIC VERSION ON HOW ACTUAL GENES WORK!
If you don't understand anything, then just enjoy the randomness. I hope you enjoy!
