chapter 6 Jane’s perspective A few hours afte Jimmy told me to make fire and Jesse to find water, Jesse came back and this man fron a villiage that literally came out of no-where, told us they know about the past and can help unlock our abilities. At first Jesse and I were both uneasy but then we got curious and followed. Next thing we know, we were trapped in a dungeon with a few pieces of papyrus and a pencil. At the time I was thinking “what am I supposed to do with these, this is not the time to draw”. But my fingers had other ideas and started drawing a key and then all of a sudden an idea popped into my head, I pressed the key and a real key came out of no-where. It didn’t fit the lock of the dungeon but it did fit the lock on the chains that had been used to lock up Jesse. After I unlock Jesse, I tried to draw another key to fit the other lock to the dungeon. I kept drawing and drawing, and every time a made another key, I felt more drained until I was too weak to draw anymore. Next minute, I hear a cheerful voice I knew far too well, it was Jimmy. He found us but he looked really mad at us, even though his voice was cheerful, then his voice changed. “I thought I would do something this stupid, trusting strangers, but you guys, not so much” he said. “Hey Jane, can you look at these pieces of paper for a minute?” He hands me pieces of paper with different keys on them. I pressed one of the keys that had a cell on its handle. I blanked out, when I woke up, I saw Jimmy and Jesse watching me, scared and shocked, but also relieved when I opened my eyes. All of the sudden Jimmy bombarded me with questions “How did you do that?” “I don’t know” I replied ‘Of course you know, you can’t do things like that without knowing how. You touched a blank piece of paper and it turned into a key” he said. I wanted to say, it wasn’t blank and then I realised they probably just can’t see it. Jimmy said “Jane you're’ right, we can’t see it” as if he was reading my mind. “Where did you get those pieces of paper from?” I said “I just found them in the desert” he said, which was a lie but at the time, I did not know that he was trying to protect Jesse and I from what he saw and what happened. “anyway why did you go to the village jessie never told me” “well we took a page from your book” I said mockingly “hey at least I am better now and I don't trust strangers” he said mad happy at the same time “Whatever jackal boy” I said I “am glad your back” “thanks” he said I went to bed still sour
