The OMC ESV (Executive Safety Vehicle) was an executive saloon produced by OMC from 1983 to 1991. The car came as a sedan, a liftback, a wagon, a coupe, a convertible and a long-wheelbase sedan. It was designed primarily with safety in mind, with innovative crash structures, four-wheel disc brakes, safety bars integrated in the doors and padded dashboards. The convertible version also had a strengthened windshield frame to be able to cope with rollovers. It was aimed towards the US market mostly, and as a result, it sold very well there. It featured thick anti-roll bars that improved handling, and powerful engines. In 1985 it was entered in the European Rally Championship and won two third places. For the road, a Rallye version was added in 1985, with a bored out version of the inline-5 found in the GTLi and All-Wheel Drive. In 1987, a sporty EXTREME version was added to the range, with the same engine as the Rallye, although it only came with Rear-Wheel Drive. The Convertible was introduced in 1988, with a stiffened chassis to withstand the lack of a roof. As a result, it weighed 200 kilograms more than the coupe. The LWB was also released in 1988, and it had an upgraded V6 engine, which was bored out from 3.0 to 3.5 liters. It had a lengthened chassis and more insulation including double pane windows. The LWB model didn't sell very well, although one was bought by the Monarchy of Sweden in 1991. Advertised as "The only car that looks good with US-spec bumpers!" from 1985 to 1987. looks very....Swedish NOTE: after sitting down with a few people and looking back at the stuff we did on Scratch when we were more active (or in my case, not inactive), I decided to re-upload this project, as it is possibly my favorite thing that I did during that time.
