This drawing is inspired by the Taylor Swift song by the name of "The Last Great American Dynasty." I love the song so much, and for some reason this very specific image of a woman with a champagne glass comes to mind when I hear it--so I decided to draw that woman! The song talks about how she "blew through the money" on lavish and frivolous things, and that's represented in the art by her glass of champagne, fancy evening gown (1930s-esque, which is when I imagined this might take place), and gold necklace. However, the song also says "they say she was seen on occasion / pacing the rocks staring out at the midnight sea" which to me meant that while she appears carefree and frivolous on the surface, there's some deeper underlying sadness--I tried to communicate that through her eyes and smile, and I think I succeeded--at least, I hope so :-P So yeah! I had a really fun time drawing this, and I'm pretty proud of it. Credits: - All art is by me - Art done in Firealpaca - I got the image to be full resolution using Adobe Illustrator - I figured out how to write the code to move the image around by looking at the code used in @realises art projects - Major credit to Taylor Swift, of course, for writing "The Last Great American Dynasty"
