The Sleeper was an experiment carried out by the US military, they were trying to make creatures to help out on the battlefield, but one day this creature became hostile while being experimented on, while it was going on it's rampage one of the scientist's shot many tranquilizer darts and now it can only move slowly, causing it's name to be The Sleeper.
