If on mobile, you can See Inside the project :D~ This was such a cool idea for a contest! Once I saw the project, I immediately started looking for a song. Late in the night, I found myself humming a song that must have been locked away in my memories, as I had first heard it in 2010 and haven't heard it since. After hours of scouring the Internet, I finally found it: 시간아 멈춰라 (Time, Please Stop) by Davichi. In 2010, my aunt introduced this song to me when I was visiting her in Korea. I remember really liking it, although I didn't know the words. (And I can't say I'm very good at understanding Korean now either, haha.) But this song has a special place in my heart, so I decided to use it. ^^ The drawing is of a girl with an hourglass for a body. The bottom is shattered, and the sand is pouring out to signify the time "stopping." The top of the hourglass contains her heart. It is intact because the girl still loves her partner, even if her partner left her. I gave her girly-ish clothing pieces because I feel like they would best complement the hourglass shape. (I also added roman numerals on her sleeves, which are commonly used in analog clocks.) As for the colors, I tried to give a mystical/mysterious/love-y vibe. I had lots of fun drawing this! I'll probably base my art on songs in the future, too haha. I've been trying to draw with a more "painterly" style, which is pretty fun in its own way. ^^
