I usually don't make announcements for new OCs, but I wanted to make one for Opal- both because she'll be one of my mains, and because her concept is a little more complicated than my other OCs. --- Her form changes depending on the month! If you want to draw her, pick whichever month fits your theme best (Or just whichever form you like most. ^^') I'll be releasing refs for each individual form sometime soon. For now, I only have her full December ref. --- January - Symbol: Snowflakes - This one should be pretty self-explanatory- January is, on average, the coldest month of the year, so I wanted to pick a symbol that reflected that. February - Symbol: Hearts - Valentine's day is the biggest holiday that happens in February, so I chose hearts for the February symbol. March - Symbol: Clovers - To represent St. Patrick's Day, as well as the first day of Spring! April - Symbol: Rainclouds - Honestly the only reason I picked this one (and the May symbols,) is because of the 'April Showers bring May Flowers' quote. May - Symbol: Flowers - See above June - Symbol: Waves - I wanted a nautical theme for at least one of the characters, and I thought that June was best! I go to the beach most often in June, so this just felt right. July - Symbol: Suns - Just as there was a basic winter design with January, there is a basic summer design with July. Not much to say about this one. August - Symbol: Happy Faces - August was one of the most difficult months to find a symbol for. After a bit of searching around, I found out that the week of August tenth is ‘National Smile Week’ in the US! September - Symbol: Apples - Late September is considered the best time for apple picking. This symbol also represents the back-to-school season. October - Symbol: Jack-O-Lanterns - This one is pretty easy to guess- this symbol represents Halloween! November - Symbol: Turkey Legs - Another Holiday-themed symbol. This one represents Thanksgiving. December - Symbol: Pine Trees - Christmas! I also wanted to get sort of a snowy northern climate vibe- which is why I gave her the flannel scarf and ear flap hat in the final ref! The other refs will also have touches like this. ---
