Alura had been using the Vehicle for about two years now, and she had pretty much about mastered the controls. So why was she crashing? She didn't know the cause, or even where she had been going in the first place. All she knew was that, now, alarms were blaring and the Vehicle, her precious, beloved, Valupian Vehicle, was on fire. Her space puppy, Ignacio, whimpered and hid. And there was impact. Hard, deafening, impact. Ignacio climbed out of his hiding spot and onto her. He yip-yipped in her face. Her eyes could not focus on the space puppy. "Gehof" She groaned. Ignacio yipped at her again. And everything went black. *** Terri Alavorna was playing in the cornstalks. She loved the cornstalks. She laid down and watched the clouds. Terri knew how to determine the future based on cloud shapes, and the clouds never seemed to lie. Whatever she saw usually came true. Except today. The clouds told her she'd be traveling. To different dimensions. "Yip-yip!" a dog barked. "Yip-yip!" Its yipping was growing louder. "Yip-yip! YIP! YIP-YIP!!!" Terri got up and turned around. There, in the cornstalks with her, was he strangest creature Terri had ever seen. It looked like a normal puppy, except for the small fact that normal puppies didn't have olive green spikes going down their back. This spike puppy also had what appeared to be a spiky helmet that was the same color as its spikes on. She wondered why it hadn't just unhinged its jaw and eaten her right then. "Hello, spike puppy." Terri said. "I'm Terri, and I don't want to be eaten, so I'm going to leave now." "YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP-YIP!!!!!! YIP-YIP!!!!!!!!" The spike puppy yipped in a manner that said to Terri "NO!!! Don't leave!!! I need your HEEEEELP!!!!" "What is it, spike puppy?" Terri asked. "YIP-YIP-YIP! YIP!!!" It replied, and then turned to leave. "Do you want me to follow you?" Terri asked. The puppy didn't reply, but she followed it anyway. The spike puppy led her through the cornstalks, through a small forest of trees, and then, after about a half hour, it led her to what looked like a spaceship that had crashed. The spike puppy went over and nudged a bit of broken spaceship away. Terri stared at the craft and didn't look at the spike puppy until it yipped at her. A leg covered in black fur hung out of the spaceship. She walked over to it and lifted a piece of the spaceship. She revealed the rest of the person in the ship. She was covered completely in black fur, and her head was that of a cat. She had paws instead of hands and feet. She wore a long, white robe with patches that were covered in ash, which. was not surprising. Her spaceship was on fire. She grabbed the cat-person's legs and dragged her out with great difficulty. And then, Terri fell to the ground, gasping and panting. She was so tired. The spike puppy jumped onto the cat-person and yipped. "Gerf." The cat-person groaned.
