I really wanted to shiny hunt a Salandit, but I put it off for a long time. Only female Salandit can evolve, so if I found a male one, it would’ve been pretty much useless. The problem is Salandit’s Gender Ratio is 7 males for every 1 female. (87.5% chance of being male, 12.5% chance of being female) This was the first shiny Salandit I found. (It took about 50 SOS encounters, which is super lucky!) I used a male Sylveon with Cute Charm to raise the odds of the Salandit being a female, but it still wasn’t guaranteed. (Cute Charm made it a 66% or two-thirds percent chance of being a female.) Her nature isn’t the best, but I’m still so glad that it wasn’t a male one. Gonna name her Toaster because she’s a Fire-Type and I suck at coming up with nicknames.
Thanks to a Nintendo for Pokémon. Thanks to Jrose11 (a YouTuber) for teaching me to use a Cute Charm Sylveon to make this WAY easier. My heart probably would’ve exploded if I found a shiny male Salandit.
