[ requested by @-Firesnake- kinda and then i changed it ahaha xD ] I don't know who the quote in the title is from, I just remember hearing it somewhere, and it stuck with me. "why fit in when you were born to stand out?" when I was younger, I always tried to categorize people on scratch into groupings. the graphic designers. the vector animators. the bitmap animators. the generic fame-hungry ones. the aesthetic accounts. the coders. the activists. I feel like a lot of other people think the same way as I did. you have to fit into a category, otherwise you're a random nobody. if you're not like everyone else, you're not worth it. if you do it differently, you're wrong. that's not true. you don't have to do everything the same as everyone else. you don't need an aesthetic username to fit in. you don't need to match your projects in sets of 5. you don't need an OC with lines for eyes and circles for hands. you don't need to have dashes in your username. you just need to be yourself. how will you ever get noticed if you try so hard to blend in with everyone else? sure, there will be people who are only willing to follow other accounts they consider "aesthetic". but honestly? you are something more. you are more than a category, a stereotype, a label. you are you, and you are unique. so be yourself. have a strange art style? don't be afraid to show it. obsessed with cupcakes? show it. like typing in all caps all the time? SHOW IT. everyone has their own unique ideas. follow your own ideas instead of trying to fit others'. that's not to say you can't take inspiration from other people, or learn from what they do. that's not to say you can't follow tutorials, or try out others' art styles, or follow a trend in your own unique way. but in the end... don't be afraid to be yourself. <3
