Hurricane Marco was a very powerful storm, and one of the 6 hurricanes to ever make landfall on the U.S. as a cat 5, the last one being Helene of 2024. (foreshadowing!) TD 14 formed about 350 miles south of Hispaniola, then gradually strengthening into a TS, and making landfall in Jamaica. It then made landfall on Cuba as a cat 2, then moved into the Gulf of Mexico and strengthened to a Cat 4 before making landfall in the Florida Panhanlde. It then moved back out at sea and strengthening to a Cat 5 and then making landfall in Louisiana. Then slowly weakened.
