for @sheelepe2026 HEY HEY FUN FACT: I ACTUALLY RECORDED MYSELF SINGING POLLYANNA AND PUT IT IN THIS PROJECT. YOU COULD HEAR IT BY ENTERING THE KONAMI CODE. IT'S GONE NOW THOUGH MWAHAHAHA music: Pollyanna from MOTHER/MOTHER Zero/MOTHER 1/Earthbound Zero/Earthbound Beginnings Pollyanna Cover by Low-Tech Son characters: Niko (OneShot), Corvisquire (Pokémon), Rookidee (Pokémon), Corviknight (Pokémon), Ninten (MOTHER 1/Earthbound Beginnings) I don't know where the thumbnail script came from, so if someone can tell me who it belongs to that would be great! I'll credit both them and you here. transcription bc my handwriting is terrible: 1. Sketch stuff. The sketch can be icky in places, but that's ok. I'll get into eyes later 2. Lower the opacity of the sketch. 3. Draw lineart over the sketch (in a new layer). You should be fixing the icky stuff from the sketch. 4. Hide the sketch layer. Tada! lineart. it looks disgusting in this example 5. BOOM flat color. I can't resist doing fancy eye stuff, adding stars and highlights in the eyes. Fabric folds are not good in this example, but y'all can do better. Keep the color layer below the lineart layer. 6. what about that BACKGROUND huh oh god that looks disgusting 7. Shadows! Use a clipping mask layer on color. Follow your light source. 8. Highlights! I like to add highlights in the middle of stuff in a concave shape. The right hair piece is wonky, but whatever. Light source is still important. For these, you can either choose to vary the color itself or add black/white at a lesser opacity. It's a good idea to mess with blending modes. 9. OVERLAYS so that it doesn't look garbage. Use a clipping mask layer on your flat color, over the lighting. Fill the regions you want to lay over. For best results, turn the opacity down. Pick a blending mode that you like best. 9. Here I do more overlays and show the blending modes 10. Light! This drawing has a light bulb, so I used a yellow pixel brush at 0% hardness (basically an airbrush). Color your light!!! white is boring 11. coloring in tears ta-da! ANOTHER 1. Sketches - Idk how to make a bird look happy 2. Lineart - Lessen the chaos. As you can see, I changed the beak of Corviknight and the footing of Corviknight and Rookidee. yeahhh 3. Flats. I accidentally shaded Corvisquire's tail. Corviknight is basically the same color all around. 4. Lighting. I often don't use paintbrushes for shading, but I wanted to try something new. Corviknight is made of steel, so highlights and shadows really give it form. 5. Numbers and shadows. Both at low opacity. 6. Overlay. I used the background color on Soft Light mode at 64% opacity, layering it over everything else. 7. Blade Birds! 8. Blade Bird glow, which I did like I did Niko's light. ta-da! Eye stuff, pick and choose what you like better. Ninten is awesome ok and i'm terrible at drawing him sappy ninten emoji - that's all folks
