He saw her in his dreams, every night. And every night he rushed towards her, only to be stopped by a wall. He didn't know how he could make it through his life without her. But one night she whispered, "Don't cry for me." "I can't help it," he replied through his tears. "I'll never see you again..." "But aren't you seeing me now?" she asked, flicking her tail like she always did when she was about to tell him something important. "Soot, don't be sad. You'll still see me here, and I'll always be with you, even if I'm not there. I'm not gone. I'll just be here, so close but still out of reach." "We'll see each other. You don't have to move on, or let go, or give me up. I'll see you again, in the end..." She pressed her paw against the glass as if to wipe his tears away, and they both gave each other small smiles. Soot clung to her words. 'I'll see you again...' He desperately hoped they were true.
