I remember being quite proud when I first finished it, but I didn't want to share it until I had written at least half of the story beforehand. Well uh, spoiler alert: I didn't lol. I feel bad letting it rot, so I've decided to share it now. This is the first chapter of Faloran Chronicles: Cosmic Shadow, the spin-off book from my main OC universe I started making with my cousin when I was 8 years old. As I've grown out of these characters, I do not intend on writing any more of the story, unless I'm suddenly gripped with the inspiration to do so XD. Here's a wee bit of background: The story takes place on the fictional planet Falora (this is how I came up with my online name). On this planet there are two main races: the Raptors and the Draconians. The raptors are basically birds of prey from real life, except 2 times bigger and they hand things on their wings that allow them to manipulate objects. The Draconians are, as the name implies, dragon-like creatures. Their race is a bit more varied than the raptors, ranging from wyverns dragons to drakes. The ones that have forelimbs can grasp things. The two species have now codeveloped into a fairly advanced society, creating technology that uses both science and magic.
