spoilers ahead ;) ugh I'm sorry I ran out of space now it has to be two boxes :P here's the blankslate of it- https://blankslate.io/?note=438462 this rant is not really about why sokeefe is good, but why sofitz is bAd xD <3 I'm sorry the next rant will be better- please don't be offended that was a joke but I am against sofitz! of course this is only my opinion so please don't be offended or hurt by anything I say - this is a fiction book series! <3 book one - keeper of the lost cities fitz is the first one to introduce sophie to the elf world- sent by alden to find her. in the beginning I didn't really have anything wrong with fitz, I just liked keefe more :P of course, as the series went on I developed some /serious/ problems with fitz but near the beginning he wasn't that bad. *why do I hate that I have nothing bad to say in the beginning of the series :>* (but seriously like sophie shouldn't have to be scared to compete against him or not always agree with him in fear he won't like her or get mad. there were multiple times at foxfire but thats pretty much all the evidence I have unfortunately for book one :< oop no I found something- credit to someone online for thinking of this! (I couldn't find their name) "Yes, Fitz found Sophie and brought her to the elvin world. But after Sophie moved in with Grady and Edaline and started Foxfire, she mainly began hanging out with Marella (my queen) and Dex. She only saw glimpses of Fitz in the morning, or during lunch. She met Keefe after her failed alchemy session. He offered to take her to the healing center. After that, Keefe was always with Sophie. They visited the healing center a lot, and they chatted in detention. Sometimes even in between classes, he would come running after sensing her emotions from a mile away. But during this time, Sophie was still the ‘weird human girl’ that no one wanted to hang out with. I think its meaningful that Keefe reached out to her even during this time. However, Fitz only began talking to her again, after she destroyed him in a splotching match and became the ‘talk of the town’. Sophie could always count on Keefe from the beginning to be there for her." (NOT BY ME) book two - exile YESSSS *cough* I mean :D I have this theory that the ships switch off (one- fitz two- keefe three- fitz and so on) and number two was my first real sokeefe fangirling extreme moment xD <3 so lets take a look at the main plot points of the story - one of the biggest ones being alden (fitz's father)'s mind breaking when his guilt about prentice takes over. of course we all remember (if you have read the book) that fitz gets /very/ /very/ mad at sophie because guess what? mr fitzy has emotional issues and when he is hurt he tries to find someone to blame - and the person who is struggling to help him is the one thrown under the bus. what I hated mostly about this scene was how sophie believes him and feels guilt about it even though it was NOT her fault <3 book five and six - lodestar and nightfall I really can't think of anything bad to say for books four and three (LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD LOOK TO SEE xD) but book five had a mOmeNt that I would love to point out right now :D when sophie, sandor, grizel, fitz, tam, linh, and biana searching at keefe's house, grizel makes a competition that the "team" that finds the most things gets a favor. no one else tried to control sophie and steal the deal by pressuring her into using it and then when she didn't use it, take it from her and try to force her into telling her things that dex asked her not too. it really bothered me how pushy he was being about knowing just because he was jealous :P (but also when there are sokeefe moments and fitz clenches his jaw or glares at keefe it just makes me cAcKLe) ooh here's where it gets GOOD- book seven - flashback (this one doesn't include fitz but like :D) in the bonus short story scene in flashback, where alden basically comes to keefe and asks him to help fitz stay calm at the trial. then he implies that keefe should "let them be happy" when fitz confesses. (obviously he's talking about sophie and fitz's relationship) but the thing is- if alden truly believed that sophie and fitz could have a sturdy and stable relationship and keefe couldn't come between them- he wouldn't need to say that. and since keefe already has a tricky and unstable relationship with his father- alden has basically been the father-like figure in his life. this made me hate alden for a while :D I get that he's trying to do what is best for his son but like (there's no emoji to describe how I feel xD) but guys- alden can sense these things. he's a telepath. is it really that hard to see that sofitz was BOUND to happen soon. keefe sees it too, and he doesn't do anything because he cares so much about them. and hes SELFLESS ;w;
as book seven continues on, fitz and sophie grow closer. and when he tells her "I want you to be on my list" it did seem cute, but the thing is, fitz only cares about how people see him, and not being a bad match because he's a Vacker. but "i like you and want to be with you" and "I need society to put your name on my list so we can have approval to date" is nOt the same. book eight - legacy - sophie felt it was wrong to kiss fitz in front of keefe and she was RIGHT omg this is the first time i've ever ran out of space sorry everyone ;w; ok now lets talk! <333 fitz was straight out a JERK when she told him that she was still looking for her biological parents and had found one (SPOILER ALERT GO AWAY NOW) who was Oralie. I'm not going to to dive in too deep but let me just say that she's crying and begging him not to guess and that she can't tell him and he keeps pushing it. A lot. (like seriously fitz-) even more then that, fitz only cares about being a good match! he only cares about his REPUTATION. its ANNOYING. when sophie finds out she's a bad match, she went to keefe first. for a reason. he hugged her and tried to help her, even though it was probably killing him that she was dating his best friend. and when fitz found out? sophie needed him to be there for her, and instead, he just worries about his families stupid legacy. he has stated that a bad match and a Vacker can't happen! more then that, he thinks that Sophie being unmatchable is going to affect HIM more then it's going to affect her. It's not her fault, but he treats her like it is. Any chance he gets he's always reminding her that this is going to affect his family legacy so much! I found an amazing article and I would just like to insert this impeccable sentence in: "And boy, if you pay attention to the context clues AT ALL, Fitz sure seems to think that it affects him more than Sophie herself, but we all know he's just a spoiled brat who's had life handed to him on a platter chiseled out of diamonds because silver isn't good enough for him. " Like I'm dying xDD Also? When Sophie CAN'T tell him who her parent is? (yes i am coming back to it) like he can't seem to accept that its SOPHIE's decision and NOT his. I got progressively more angry as this went on hehehe more things I couldn't figure out which book to put them in: Fitz only showed his crush once Keefe started expressing signs of liking Sophie. like seriously- biana tells sophie he's liked her since Alleveteurre, (wow that's hard to spell) and that was like 2 chapters after keefe starts more openly flirting :/ I remember this one time in one of the books when Sophie was upset about something, fitz pushed her and pushed her to tell him but she couldn't tell him, tried to use the "we're cognates" on her, it didn't work, and then he got mad. then when sophie came to KEEFE he just said "okay" and then said "you don't have to tell me" and hugged her. THIS IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE FOR THE WHOLE SERIES. THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY EXCESSIVELY LONG TED TALK :D AND GO READ @s0keefe's its BETTER THEN MINE xD <333 (but also ps if you made it down this far I love you and here is a point on why keefe is better! <3 this is from another article I found :D "When Sophie started dating Fitz, Keefe said he was distancing himself from her because he ‘wanted to do the right thing’. He knew that he could never manage to hang out with Sophie for a long time without flirting because of his adorable crush on “The Mysterious Miss F.” Also in the book, Keefe said that when she enhanced him, he could get her heart’s emotions not just her head’s emotions that she’s aware of. So, sadly, Keefe knows that she likes him but he can’t tell her because they’re her emotions, not his. " love you byeeeee
