Hey y’all! August here — anyways, I felt the need to post Max’s ref here on my main, so here I am. I’m gonna t r y and explain her backstory without miserably confusing everyone in existence, and.. yeah. Anyways, I’ll stop rambling and aCTually do her bio— Basics - Name: Maxine, goes by Max. Species: Immortal, looks fully human (ignoring her eyes *cough*). Age: Approximately 5,000, looks to be around 19-20. Gender: Cis female, uses she/her pronouns. Sexuality: Demisexual lesbian. She is very much lesbian. Other: Her usual outfit is the one in the ref, but she’ll wear anything remotely edgy, except for hoodies. For r e a s o n s, Max hates hoodies. And if you can’t tell, she wears fingerless gloves because emo-ness. Personality - Not exactly an introvert or an extrovert. She’s friendly, but isn’t the type to walk up to a stranger and strike a conversation. She’s a bit intimidating, so most people avoid her. She doesn’t have many friends, between people not wanting to talk to her, and never staying in one place very long. Max is definitely a globetrotter, rarely staying in one place for a week, though she may come back and visit. She’s really determined, and lashes out at people when they tell her she’s wrong. For thousands of years, she’s been determined to break gender stereotypes, only to fall prey to a few herself. Max has a very... rough relationship with her only family, thanks to several failings out a couple thousand years ago (I’ll expand on that in the backstory section, if anyone is still reading this—) and, like, never talks to him. A n y w a y, Max is very reckless and has a very strong sense of right and wrong, despite her very questionable morals. She’s fine letting people deal with their own problems and really doesn’t care whether or not people think she’s a good person. To quote her, ‘Why does it matter if I’m a villain? I’m just doing my part.’ Very questionable. She’s also very cocky and confident, seeming to be completely fearless. She always seems tired, and is more sarcastic depending on how tired she is — so, basically, she’s constantly super sarcastic. But, yeah, that’s that. Powers - You may wonder why her powers get a whole section of their own... well, you’ll see, to be certain. Max’s power is basically teleportation through the shadows, but w a y cooler then shadow-travel (sorry not sorry.) She can enter the mythical fourth Realm, (as far as most people know, there are three Realms. The Mortal Realm, the Immortal Realm, and the Under-Realm), known as the Shadow-Realm. She can hide in the Shadow-Realm and transport herself just about anywhere with ease. But when helping other people, it quickly drains Max’s energy to the point of passing out from exhaustion after bringing one person through, let alone a whole group. Backstory - Great Fates— where do I start? Anyways, she was born and raised in the Under-Realm (equivalent to the Underworld in my story) with her equally emo older brother. Despite constant arguments and clashing opinions, the siblings were pretty close. One day, about 4,000 years previous to the start of the story, Max and her brother meet this enby named Maverick, who also has the (rare) ability to enter the Shadow-Realm. Max and Maverick become fast friends, having very similar opinions, while Max’s brother has t r u s t i s s u e s and wasn’t as close to Maverick. After a couple of years, Maverick finds a super-powerful weapon hidden away in the ruins of the Fates’ Palace (a place in the Immortal Realm where the Fates themselves were rumored to have lived, millennia ago.) and, anyway, they decided to use their blacksmithing skills, melt down the powerful weapon, and turn it into three swords, one for them, one for Max, and one for her brother. Max immediately agreed. She thought that once Maverick finished with the weapons, maybe, just maybe, she and her friends could take over the Under-Realm together. Max’s brother, however, thought is was a mistake to make the swords. But eventually, he agreed. A while later, Maverick had finished two of the three swords, saving the one for themself for last. Then, they d*ed. Only Max was there when they passed, and she refused to tell even her brother what happened. After that, Max and her brother had a /h u g e/ argument, and haven’t really spoken since. Since then, Max traveled the world. Max never grieved Maverick’s d**th. She didn’t regret it. She did what she had to. The end - So, if there’s anything you’d like me to expand on, just tell me. That was super fun to write, and Max is such a cool character, and very semi-questionable. (Though Max’s brother is epic too, I’m just not telling y’all who he is because yes.) Anyways, that’s it! Have a good day!
