I think I should start this by saying that not all bans are fair, either. I've seen people banned for questionable reasons. I'm simply saying that not all bans are unfair. The Scratch Team runs this website. That's a lot of work. It's an educational website and needs to be heavily moderated, because its main audience is kids. That means they have to put rules in place to keep everything in order. And I know I'm going to get backlash for this, but I see where they're coming from with a lot of the rules - even the unpopular ones. For example: the ban on shared accounts. Accounts have to be linked to an email. Emails are both unmoderated chat and personal information. Therefore, by giving someone on the internet the password to your shared account, you're giving out personal information, which is clearly against the Community Guidelines. And yet, people still do it, knowing full well it's not allowed, and then complain that they were unfairly banned. How does this make sense? It just makes more work for the Scratch Team, honestly, and it's not very fair to complain about being punished for doing something you knew was wrong. Another thing I want to address is people who get mad because their /friends/ were banned "for no reason". There is a reason. Think about it this way: If you were banned, you probably regret what you did to get banned. So when your friends ask you why, you're probably going to lie - or at least make it a little more mild, right? Even if someone is a super close friend, you shouldn't trust them when they say "idk i got banned for no reason." unless you've seen a screenshot, I hate to say it, but... don't just blindly trust, even your closest of friends. You or a friend making a mistake or breaking a rule doesn't make you a terrible person or anything. It's just like with young children: you have to make mistakes to learn. And if you're purposely breaking the rules - expect to get banned, and don't complain about it, okay? So in conclusion: don't just jump to "the scratch team is terrible" when you or someone you know gets banned. in a lot of cases, you don't know the full story. that's all ^^ <3
