The Porshe Tiger tank was the result of a competition between two manufacturers to make a new heavy tank for the German army using the new 40mm gun. The two designs by the two company were the Posche Tiger and the ever so popular Tiger tank. The Porsche tiger used the same turret, but had a longer body and unique wheel covers, it also used two hybrid engines, sadly due to design if had trouble crossing terrain and had constant engine problems. The other design was chosen over the Porsche. By the time the competition ended 3 P tigers were completed, with another 95 partially constructed hulls, the end decision was to convert the hulls to the also well known Ferdinand tank (or known as the Elefant tank) Two of the completed P tigers were lost, so it was decided to have the last completed one (that also worked far better the early versions) to be the commanding unit for the Ferdinand tank hunter platoon. Despite the record of problems the last P tiger was have said to have scored 50 kills. Sadly no Porsche tigers survived the war, and only a few Ferdinands exist.
