[ me here leeching off of blue because i can't think of anything to write haha ] I had an old account, about 2.5 years old, so 2 years and 6 months. Lots of things were different then. Besides the project editor, the biggest thing that is different from then to now for me, is followers/fame. When I first created my account, I remember that if someone had 200 followers, it was a big deal: they were considered famous. And if you saw someone who had 1k followers? They were /really/ famous. I told my friend that I found someone who had 3k followers, and I was in shock. She then told me that there was this person who had 80k followers. And that person was griffpatch. But anyways, to the main point. This is mainly about followers. Yes, followers don't matter, or at least, they /shouldn't/ matter; I mean, this is a coding website after all, not a full on social media platform... But there are lots of people who care about followers, even though you really shouldn't. It is cool to see how many people support you, but it shouldn't be your main motive for Scratch. But again, anyways, this still isn't the main point xD I want to talk about how people are gaining followers just so fast. There are people who have been on scratch for 1 day, and have 100 followers. And today, I saw someone who had been on scratch for 1 month, and already had 1k followers. I just feel like that's crazy. Now why do they get that many followers in such a short time? Well I think it's because they're doing what they see on trending, or they're just hopping onto the trends. There is /nothing/ wrong with doing what's on trending/hopping onto trends: do what you want/what makes you happy! But I feel like it's not right for someone who has a pfp not even made by themselves, an about me and wiwo from a template /still/ not made by them, zero projects shared, and 100 followers while people who make quality content/good projects that they spent a long time on sometimes don't even get 10 followers. It's just bonkers to me that that's the world we live in- But anyways, maybe if you see someone who has good projects, just give them a follow? They'd probably appreciate it a lot more than you might realize. Thanks :)
