It's been a while haha So recently I've been having a bit of an art block :") its harder for me to finish pieces than it used to be, and i, not as motivated either ah - im slowly getting back into it though!! I don't have enough art for an art dump right now so I decided to do an art process!! this is a piece i redrew, the original being somewhere back in October. these are just my steps, you don't have to follow them!! - - - *this is drawn with firealpaca, with a canvas size of 2200x1850 1. I start by using the circle tool to make 'guidelines' for my drawing!! I don't sketch, so this would be the equivalent of one :D I used the base color of the character 2. Lineart! I usually do the lineart in multiple layers depending on the accessory + character complexity. I use the pen tool, with anti-aliasing on, as well as zero pressure on both ends. the pen size depends on the canvas size, always! 3. Darkening the lineart!! I usually do this so the shading doesn't end up darken than the lineart, and I usually do it AFTER I've shaded. I use a clipping layer, use the lineart color, set it to multiply and lower the opacity depending on how dark I want the lineart to be. 4. Color! I use the fill bucket + protect alpha to color, and most of the time do it on only one layer. 5. Extra eye details!! Added eye spot thingies 6. Base shading!! This is where I start the basic shading, nothing too complex - I use a lowered-opacity airbrush and multiply - I used purple to shade this 7. More shading!! Same as above, just more defined shading 8. Extra shading + lighting!! 9. Overlay!! I used purple + pink on the overlay setting = the overlay helps connect and add mood to the shading :] 10. Background off of Google! I blurred it so it would fit better :0 11. Added overlay to the background, again with pink + purple, on overlay mode! Full opacity 12. Added the decorative lines, white + yellow on 73% opacity w/ overlay! 13. Final overlay + details 14. Added black bars!! I usually add these for scenes 15. Signature!! 16. And finally, the finished piece! So there's my art process!! :0 It's fairly simple :D Overall I'm pretty proud of the result of the piece!! *Update on owed art* If I owe you art, I'm working on it!!
