But most of all, Surai didn’t expect them to be looking for her dead father, Smolder. “Now, now kits, I am sure you all had a really strange dream, head back to your camp and tell one of the warriors or apprentices, or even the elders about this. Some cats are trying to sleep.” “But we can’t! Our cwan is gone! And our mommies and daddies and the leader and deputy! If we go back we will be dead birdie!” a small kit yelped. “Are you Smolder?” another kit asked, this one a little older. “No, but my dad was Smolder. He died in a war. I guess I am Smolder’s little kit, excel I am many moons older than you kittos.” Surai replied. “HOW much older?” the same Kit who said something first replied. “Depends on how old each of you are. My overall age is 19 moons, which is older than three kits of your ages combined!” “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW” all thirteen kits said in unison. “Well, you kits look tired. Here, follow me to my den. It’s really big, and my sister, Beetle, and I sleep in there, so say one of you gets hungry her and I can get you some food.” Surai announced to the now growing crowd of kits. Surai didn’t know what was coming. She didn’t expect that she would risk every cats’ life protecting the whole forest from the unknown danger that was coming, and that danger had no mercy.
