Parallel Lines (Disclaimer! This story is set in the year 2064) Chapter 1 (Adrien's POV) (Flashback to 2058) "D-d-daddy?!" Adrien said as he looked at the broken body before him. Even though he couldn't see very well through his glasses, Adrien could see the knife sticking out of his fathers head. He scowled through his tears. "Who. Did. This. I'll kill them!" A voice cackled behind him. "That would be me, little one! As for killing me . . . you'll be dead if you try going for the knife." A girl slowly walked towards him. Adrien sighed. Never take off your glasses, His dad would tell him, terrible things will happen. He took his glasses, not sure what to expect. Nothing happened. Everything stopped. He walked over to the girl who he could see much better. She looked about 15, with straight brown hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a bright green jacket, a white dress, and black boots. It looked like she was pulling a gun out of her jacket before everything stopped. Adrien grabbed the gun and aimed it at her. He froze. Could he do this? Could he rid the world of someone just because he was angry? He cried as he put on his glasses and pulled the trigger. (Present) Adrien sat on his bed. Six years earlier his father had died. He always had told Adrien he would become a hero. Adrien laughed bitterly to himself. All he had become was a thief and a killer. The authorities had been trying to find him for the past six years.
