The human immediately dropped her, but being a cat, she landed on all fours. She hissed and darted under the table, snarling. "Tori, get out here right now!" a large, male human knelt down, flinging his arm under the table. He poked Tori and she growled loudly, clawing his arm, burying her claws to reach the muscles. He screamed in excruciating pain, yanking his arm out and using his phone to call an ambulance. The ambulance rushed over and rushed him to a hospital as his arm leaked ketchup. They also called animal patrol to come and rid of her. She growled, hearing the door creak open. But, to her surprise, a soft woman walked in, not a burly man just wanting to get home. She knelt down with some treats and cooed Tori out calmly. "So you're the unlucky pest everyone keeps talking about," she smiled, "You don't look so dangerous. The lady created a trail of treats and let Tori come out in her own time. The lady walked around the house and came back to Tori with a horrified look on her face. "You're not unlucky, you've been tortured!" the lady carefully put her hand out as Tori padded over. She gasped with disgust as she saw all the scars Tori had. She gently picked up Tori and went to put her into the carrier, but without thinking, Tori clawed her lightly. She winced but didn't yell, "My mistake, you must be terrified of these, right?" Tori nodded so instead the lady simply walked out the door and encouraged Tori to follow. Tori noticed the kindness in this lady and followed her all the way to her car. "Here, I laid out a blanket for you," she patted the seat next to her. Tori leapt up and curled into a comfy position. "Wow, I never noticed your eyes," she stroked the kit, noticing her scarlet red eyes. It looked like Tori smiled as she slowly drifted to sleep. She felt the car come to a gentle stop as she heard something clip onto her. It was a simple lead so she didn't struggle. "Come on, let me introduce you to your new carer," the lady walked her in. "Hello Alice, is this that unlucky cat?" an older man huffed, leaning up from his chair to examine Tori. "She's not unlucky, she was actually tortured," the lady, which she now knew as Alice, angrily responded, chucking the photos of proof. "Where's Jenny?" "She quit when she discovered the cat was Tori," the man used a toothpick to get gunk out of his teeth. "But who's taking care of her?!" Alice did not look happy, "Please don't say-" the man interrupted her, "Ryan." "Ryan," she finished her sentence to herself. "Doesn't anyone remember what happened to the last cat that he took care of!" she glared at the man, "Of course we do, but no one else was willing to take her on and the manager said you already have too many." Tori started to cower, afraid of what happened to the last cat. Alice walked to the pens, "Don't worry, I'll make sure you're treated right." She placed Tori in a clean pen that was recently prepared for her. Alice walked off, leaving Tori to meet the other animals. "Tori, right?" a torn, tabby tom erupted from the shadows as all the other animals cowered. She nodded and replied, "They're all afraid of you?" "Not me, my friend," he motioned to the massive rottie in the cage next to him. The rottie was massive, black and had a metal muzzle on him. "By the way, I'm Half'shade," the tom sat and started to groom himself. "Tori," she replied, noticing his name was that because half of his body was black as if burnt (half his face, his throat and his left arm). "Did you find out who your carer is yet?" Tori jumped at the sudden voice but turned to see a light grey Bengal. "Oh, sorry to startle you," the Bengal chuckled. "You didn't startle me!" Tori looked flustered. "Mm sure I didn't, I'm Silver!" the molly chuckled "I'm-" "I know, Tori. So, who's your carer?" Silver tilted her head. "I think his name was..... uhh... Ria-" Tori was rudely interrupted by Half, "Ryan!" he snarled lowly, "That rotten fleabag was the cause of this," he referred to his burns. "I'm sure Tori can handle him!" Silver grinned. Half just rolled his eyes and continued to groom himself. (OH GOSH I AM MAKING A WHOLE DANG STORY WITH THIS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i should stop
