Heyo! This is my new poem, "We Wait for the Waves", it took me a while to write, so I hope you enjoy it! Click space to advance
We Wait for the Waves A poem I was inspired by Amanda Gorman, the youngest poet laureate in the United State's history. __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ Her poem I got my inspo from was "A Hill We Climb", which she read at the presidential inauguration of 2021. I think that specific poem represents the writing style "spoken word poetry", where it is not just dependent on the actual words themselves, but on the presentation of poem. I love spoken word poetry, and I tried to model "We Wait for the Waves" off this style. It is not good enough to stare at the poem on the screen, devouring the words one by one- it demands to be read out loud So try it! Does that change it? I hope so. __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it! __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ Links ll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI1c-Lbd4Bw ll Amanda Gorman's stunning presentation of "The Hill We Climb" (Watch it-it's really amazing! :3) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/471670432/ ll My other poetry project on my @Oddrey account, before I decided to make this one!
