- - - - aha helloo, welcome to an art process!! I'm really proud of this piece so I thought id showcase that!! i got this character in a DT with @-AstrologicaI- :)) steps: 1. a simple circle for the head - nothing too special, just a light guideline so I know where to start 2. lineart!! this usually happens on different layers until I eventually merge them 3. coloring!! i really liked coloring this design pfft 4. pupil coloring - I do this on a separate layer so I can change the color as needed 5. eye glints!! in my opinion these really tie everything together 6. a base shading layer with a darker pink/orange, nothing special yet! just for me to feel out where I'm going 7. heavier shading!! same color as the last step! 8. more shading + more red, orange, brownish overlays! overlays are really helpful and set an atmosphere 9. the first touches of lighting!! i started out with a dark yellowish green color so that the lighting came out richer + deeper 10. more lighting + highlights! 11. finished the lighting, starting to add a background. i started with a simple Minecraft background and blurred it so it fit better 12. overlayed the background!! if you look at the layers you can see the colors I used. i just color over the entire background, set it to overlay and lower the opacity! 13. overlayed the entire piece with darker red several times!! 14. added black bars, they create the scene vibe aha 15. added a signature in the corner!! i draw it, resize and lower the opacity so its visible but not too visible pfft 16. darken the lineart - it wasn't standing out quite as much before, and this looked 10x better than with the lighter lineart 17. the final piece!!
