This was an old school project for our coding class. Recording by yours truly, ft. a terrible mic and a performance I am glad my teacher never heard -- Brief history: Though it isn't quite a minute in length, it's very minute in character. Chopin composed this waltz in the year 1847 and had it published in the same year. The other two waltzes in the opus were composed at around the same time. The "minute" waltz's nickname has an interesting history; he was inspired by George Sand (his ex-girlfriend)'s dog, and wrote a "molto vivace" (very lively) little piece to describe the pooch. "Minute" essentially means "very small" which is why the public dubbed the piece thus. Chopin himself said he was not a fan of the nickname, as it can be misinterpreted. Many, to this day, are still under the impression that the waltz is meant to be played in sixty seconds, which is inaccurate. To find out more, visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minute_Waltz
