Note: again she's like 9 SELKIE BLANC’S BACKSTORY Chapter 2 “How can I get a cool miraculous for training class soon?” thought Roana at home. The door opened, signifying that Roana’s father was back from home. “Daddy!” shouted her sister and brother, running up to him. “Hello.” he said without emotion. Roana looked up from her seat and stopped her train of thought. “Hey Dad!” said Roana. “Do you think I could have a miraculous for training class at school?” Her father narrowed his dark green-blue eyes. “That depends on your behavior. And your grades. A 95% on your test is not the kind of grades I would expect from an older sister. Right now, that would be a no.” Roana sighed. “Yes Father.” Roana went to her room to get started on her schoolwork. There was a knock at her bedroom door. “Roana?” said her mom softly. “Yeah mom?” said Roana, mildly annoyed that her mom was always trying to disturb her. “I heard you tell your dad about training class. If you need any help with it, be sure to tell me.” she smiled. Roana fake smiled at her mom. I just want to be left alone, why can’t she see that? “I also have something you might like.” Roana widened her eyes when she saw what her mom had in her hand. “This is the Mangrove Butterfly Miraculous. The kwami doesn’t talk often, so you would need to worry about that.” said her mother kindly. “W-wow! Thanks so much mom!” said Roana. She smiled. Her mother nodded. “Of course my little seal.” she said smiling. “Roana, are you hungry? Or do you need help with homework?” “Not really. I don’t have any homework.” said Roana. Roana’s mother smiled. “Okay, my little seal.” When Roana’s mother left Roana sighed and opened the small miraculous box. A flash of dark purple light swirled around her. The kwami blinked her eyes. “Who are you?!” said Roana. “I am Papilli. Nice to meet you!” “Well, I’m Roana.” Roana slightly smiled. “What is the reason for you to use this Miraculous?” asked Papilli. Roana gave a wide smile. “I’m going to do battle training at school! I’m going to be the best hero ever!” Papilli blinked for a moment, something unreadable flashing in her eyes. Then she smiled. “That sounds great!” Roana nodded. “I’m so excited!” “I’m sure you are. Battle training is very important, and very fun!” “What do you do for fun?” asked Roana. Papilli looked away, then looked back at Roana. “Well, I’m friends with your parents. They sometimes use me for things they need to do.” Roana tilted her head. “Really?” “Yeah! Your parents are really good at their job, and they are really powerful.” said Papilli. “Nice!” said Roana. “Dad and Mom never tell me what they do at work though, I only know that they help people.” Papilli’s eyes widened. “So you don’t know?” “Don’t know what?” replied Roana. “Oh- nevermind.” said Papilli, sighing. Roana looked at her weirdly. “Hey, do you smell that?” “Uhmm… Kwamis don’t have noses.” “Dinner’s ready!” exclaimed Roana. Roana raced down the stairs. “...And Ms. Anderson told me that I was doing a great job!” said James, Roana’s younger brother. “You are doing well in school. I expect you to keep doing well, James.” said Roana’s father, smiling a little. Roana sighed. He never praises me! She thought with jealousy. “Roana. I heard you are doing Battle Training class soon.” said her dad, raising his eyebrows. “Yes, why?” said Roana suspiciously. “Battle training class is important. I expect you to learn from it.” he said coldly. “Especially with that bad grade you had gotten the other day.” “Yes father,” sighed Roana. It wasn’t even that bad of a grade! Thought Roana. “You will respect me. I am your father,” growled her father. “Do not use that tone with me, ever.” Roana bit her lip to stop herself from breaking out into tears in front of her family. “Yes father.” Roana grabbed some food that was on her table and raced to her room. She silently let the hot tears flow from her dark blue eyes. Roana sat on her bed, and hugged her knees. “Roana?” asked a small voice. “Yeah?” sniffed Roana quietly. “What did you do to let Liam be so mad at you?” “DadsaysIgotabadgradebutitwasactuallynotthatbadandhehatesme.” she rushed. “If you got a bad grade, then you have to make up for it!” replied Papilli. “Alright.” sighed Roana. She slowly started eating the chicken that was for dinner. She bite her lip, losing her appetite. “Hey Papilli, you never told me how to transform.” said Roana. “It’s, ‘Papilli, dark wings rise!” said Papilli. “Why Dark wings? That sounds like the original Hawk Moth.” “I don’t know..” shrugged Papilli, her eyes darting around the room. “If you say so…” replied Roana, narrowing her eyes in thought. haha now ya'll have to wait until chapter 6 is done which is like a g e s from now
