this is supposed to be the Classic suit first introduced in 1962 when Spider-Man made his comic book debut. The Original Design by Steve Ditko was updated by artist John Ramita Sr. OG design had webbed under arms and the webbing patter was very tight, and the eyes we're very small. Updated design made the webbing pattern wider, removed the under arms and enlarged the lenses. Thus the design of the Spider-Man you see.
