Just let me know so I can check out the project! Again, I really don't want this thing. Hoo boy, and now explanation/rant time This is gonna be long, you've been warned. Most people kind of dismiss my trypanophobia. So, I'm gonna write some common misconceptions and address them. This is a real phobia and it should be taken seriously. 1: 'You'll grow out of it, I didn't like needles at your age either' Okay, that's nice, but even just being at a pharmacy where they give flu shots makes me light-headed, nervous, covering my arms etc. Actually having to get a shot means trying not to pass out while crying. It kind of feels like my chest is getting weird and empty, that nervous feeling? Besides, I'm already 13. I don't think I'm going to 'grow out of it' anytime soon. 2: 'Don't worry, it's just a pinch! It doesn't hurt that much!' I have two things to say about this. First, no it's not just a pinch. Second, it's not about the pain. It's about having metal under your skin and in your veins, and the fact that they're putting dead germs into your blood (I'm not antivax I just really don't like shots) 3: 'Oh, just relax! Or don't look at it!' Both of those things are physically impossible. Now shut up. 4: 'Do you want to watch me get the shot first so you can see it's not that bad?" HECK NO I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE EXPOSURE THAN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I HAVE TO CLOSE MY EYES IF SOMEBODY'S GETTING A SHOT IN A MOVIE. GET AWAY FROM ME WITH YOUR HECKING BANDAID AND TERRIFYING DOCTOR SMELL I think that's it. Ugh. Sorry for the rant, I just really want people to understand that this is not just 'eW NeEdLe oUcHy'. It sucks because you can't just avoid it like arachnophobes can avoid spiders. It's literally necessary to get a shot at least once a year. The only thing that stops me from just running down the street the other way is bribing me with one of those giant candies haha. Anyways. Thank you for scrolling down this far.
